Little is known of Narthalion, save what the Elves of Beleriand and Valinor may tell. What may be said with certainty is that he is an Elf-Lord of the Noldor, though his house now is scattered and few, and that he is a friend to all who strive against the darkness of Middle Earth.
Darker rumours abound, that he is one of the Kinslayers, once high in the counsels and armies of the Sons of Feanor. And others might say that nay, he was a friend and ally of Orodreth and of Nargothrond. That he guarded the folk of the Havens of Sirion, that he had the goodwill of Elwing. What the truth of these matters may be there are few left who can say, and fewer who will.
Description
About him is a light all but forgotten in the world, the sheen of the moon upon dark waters.
Tall is he, and possessed of a grace and nobility that knows neither age nor worldly limit. Litheness is matched by strength, and in mingling create a form of great beauty. Dark his hair, and shining, falling smooth upon powerful shoulders. His face is proud and sharply fair, comeliness made exquisite in the lingering Light. It is that Light which makes his grey eyes nigh unendurably keen, holding within them the knowledge of Valinor, wisdom hard-won through countless years, nourished by an undying flame of passion and willful spirit.
