Our macho Melethron\'s cool exterior cracks

September 16, 1999

Weary from the day\'s long journey a woman walks through the campground stretching her legs. Nodding slightly as she passes the many guards and soldiers, she looks for a solitary place to sit quietly. Sighing as there seem to be people in every direction, her tired feet take her in the direction of someone she has not spoken to in some time. Watching the wind whip his cloak as she nears him, her soft pink lips curve into a gentle smile as Aearwen speaks his name, \"Good evening Melethron.\"

[Melethron(#29496)] Startled from his thoughts, the tall Knight turns his head a bit to take note of his cousin standing there and unconsciously drawing his hand away from the hilt of the blade worn upon his hip, \"Good eve Cousin,\" the words sound softly, but as they fall away the man turns once more to look to the north and west.

Stepping lightly across the ground, holding her skirts off of the dew covered grass, Aearwen makes her way to Melethron. Standing there quietly for a moment, she places her hand on his shoulder, looking in the same direction as he, \"Are you looking at the stars or perhaps just guarding the camp? It has been way too long since we last talked. Tell me how you have been, I have missed you.\", her soft voice soothing.

[Melethron(#29496)] Almost as if he is figiting under the scrutiny of his cousin\'s gaze and questions, the Knight looks across the horizon pointedly not look at her, \"I am well,\" he says, \"Just taking my post as a guard of the camp... I am well,\" he says, though this time there is a definate note of doubt in his voice however slight it is. The shifting of his stance is marked by the creaking of his boots and armor, but finally he turns to Aearwen and looks her in the eyes, \"It has been awhile cousin, a long while.\"

Leaning forward to softly brush her cheek against his, Aearwen smiles, \"It is good to see you looking so well, as last I saw you blood soaked and injured.\" Linking her arm through his she inquires, \"Do you mind if I stand here with you for a few? I grow weary of sitting and yearn to feel the land beneath my feet.\" Sighing softly as the wind blows tendrils of hair across her face, \"Tell me cousin, after Pelagir, where did you go? I have not had news of you in so long. The past few months have been a whirlwind of activity with the war and my duties as envoy.\"

[Melethron(#29496)] \"To Dol Amroth along with the others of the wounded,\" Melethron\'s words come in a voice that hints to the thoughts of the past, \"After the battle I could barely lift my arm, the same that was very nearly taken from me at the last battle of Osgiliath, I was told that there was a chance I could never again use that limb if I did not stay and heal. So that is what I did, but after the healing was done there was no way for me to join the army in Harad so I stayed and took up practicing with the sword for all the waking hours of the day, I was a quick study the teacher said, and now, nearly four months from the time I first picked up the blade I can hold my own against those who have trained in the blade for all thier lives.\" He sighes long and soft, \"And though I care little for the shedding of blood, days of waiting nearly drove me to my whits end...\"

Nodding softly as she listens to Melethron\'s words, Aearwen says, in almost a whisper, \"I well remember your wounds in Osgiliath and the long recovery you faced there.\" Her voice softly questioning, \"These horrific injuries do sometimes make me question...I dont know...not the why. I know the reasons we must fight to keep evil from spreading across our land. The pain I feel seeing loved ones, familiar faces injured and maimed time and after time, is a deep ache that never seems to leave. \" Whispering even softly, \"There are times, when I close my eyes to sleep.....visions of all of those men flash behind my dark lids in a mass of confusion and mayhem.\" Hugging closer to Melethron, \"Come, we must talk of nicer things, you are recovered and stronger than ever and myself...well, my memories will face in time.\"

[Melethron(#29496)] If her changing of the subject is noted by Melethron, the man pays it little heed as he speaks again, \"We hold back the Shadow because we, the men of Gondor are the only ones with the strength to do so, but even know that might is beginning to weaken as the Shadow Lord rises to power once more. I pray that the day the Dark Lord lashes out at the world does not come soon for there is little the might of Gondor can do to hold back that horde of darkness.\"

Shivering slightly at the ominous words spoken by Melethron, Aearwen tightens her grip on his arm, \"That is my fear. Time after time our men are wounded. How many times can their bodies and spirits fight off the evil that threatens us? The brave men of Gondor are without compare, but they are only human.\" Tilting her head back as a breeze stirs the camp, enjoying the coolness on her slightly sunburned face.

[Melethron(#29496)] \"Duty binds us, Courage aides us, and Wisdom guides us,\" The Knight speaks, \"Without these things we surely would falter under the charge of the Shadow.\" With a slight turning of his head, Melethron looks away from her again muttering to himself, \"Only human...\"

Bending her head to peer into Melethron\'s face, Aearwen looks at him with puzzlement marring her crystal blue eyes. \"Cousin, what am I feeling from you tonight? Does your heart ache with some burden that you need lifted by conversation with a caring listener?\" A smile curves her lips as she teases, \"There is a great Ethring-Bragollach shoulder at your disposal.\" Dropping to a mock curtsy as she laughs softly.

[Melethron(#29496)] Silence flows from the man, the heavy weight of a burden can be felt, and without a word the Knight slips out of his cousin\'s grip, if it could be called a grip, and begins to walk into the night, a lone figure admist the shadows of the night yet the darkness all about him does not cause his steps to falter, for into the darkness he plods steadfast and resolute.

Standing torn as she watches Melethron walk out into the night, Aearwen bites her bottom lip. The shadows of the night already making him a distant figure as he continues to walk on. Finally, she picks up her skirt and rushes across the wet grass, calling his name.

[Galdorim(#22020)] The light of torches ficker across a face of a tall figure standing just outside the reach of the illumination. He watches and listens to the words of the grave words of the lovely Lady Envoy of the Prince and the Brave Bragolach knight. He stands there motionlessly as if he is in deep thought. The light plays off the symbol of minas Tirith on the tabard of this Gondorian Officer.

[Melethron(#29496)] Into and through the darkness he moves, heeding nothing but the boiling storm within his own mind brought to the for and given life by the words of his cousin the Ethrig-Bragollach. But there is a point at which he stops, his steps having brought him close to the banks of the Mering stream, and it is there that he stops looking into the glistening water that flows there.

Rushing headlong through the darkness, guided only by the sound of Melethron\'s footsteps, Aearwen continues to call his name, \"Melethron, please stop....please, stop. You are scaring me.\", panting as her breathing becomes labored the farther they go and her fear grows. Almost bumping into Melethron before she realizes he has stopped, Aearwen stands there for a moment, a sheen of persperation on her face as she tries to catch her breath. Drawing in a deep long breath she says, \"I will not apologize for coming after you Melethron, so before you lash out at me with your tongue, know, there will be no apology. My heart is heavy with concern for you and I feel compelled to offer my assistance in any way that I can.\" Stepping in front of him, she reaches up one dainty hand to lightly brush his face for a moment, \"Look at me Melethron, this is someone that cares deeply for you and would never hard you. Listen to my words, do you not hear that in my voice.\"

[Melethron(#29496)] For a time the only noise is that of the streams passage, the bubbling of the water over rocks, but then softly at first but never rising above that of a gentle whisper Melethron speaks, \"What is it like to be loved?\" The question, so simple to ask yet so hard to answer, and as if realizing that all she has said is truthful the man turns, his eyes catching the light of the moon only to show the deep sadness lurking within, \"I have never known the love of a woman...\" he says just as softly, \"The only lover I can claim is that of my blade, a cold and unresponsive mistress at best.\" \"When I was young, I thought of the glory of battle, but now I see there is no glory, only a continual battle for life, but what is it worth fighting for? I don\'t know anymore?\" With formality thrown to the wind, the words of the Knight come through clear and blunt, \"With every passing battle I lose more of myself to the grim shell that one must form in order to keep one\'s sanity, a shell without emotion, bound in place by the chains of duty and honor, but what purpose does it serve?\"

Drawing back slightly in surprise, Aearwen stands there , her mouth opening and then closing as she starts to speak, then remains silent. Her eyes gaze at the moonlight water flowing past, obviously lost for words, her arms slip around herself as she thinks. Finally, turning back to face Melethron, \"That has to be one of the hardest questions I have ever been presented. There are so many kinds of love in life and who can honestly say, \"this\" is the one or the way love is. To love and be loved is an individual thing, depending on one\'s personality and that of the person that meets our needs. \" Her breath rushing out in a soft laugh, \"If you had asked me this question in Osgiliath, Pelargir or even Harad, I could have given you an absolute heartfelt answer to what it is like to be loved. But now, since we returned from Umbar, I find myself lost in my own swirling doubts and confusion. Granted, my father is behind most of those feelings, but still, they remain.\" Her voice softens as she says, \"To be loved...ah, to be loved is a feeling of completeness, fulfilling.... of being whole. The way your love looks at you..no, it goes way beyond that....its the way they are constantly aware of your needs and meeting those needs. A smile, a look...\", laughing softly, \"even an argument, both sides angry beyond belief and then resolving the issue.\" Her curls tumbling around her face as she shakes her head, \"I do not know how to answer that Melethron...but know this, I do love you cousin.\"

[Melethron(#29496)] From those last words he turns away, \"Why?\" he speaks again, \"In my time I have had but one time when I spoke to you without belittling you in someway. There are days when I wonder why anyone would speak to me...\" he almost throws up his hands, \"But I am who I am... whether I like who I am or not...\" his voice drops to a dull whisper, \"A heartless and pompous ass...\"

Her laughter tinkling out like a bell, Aearwen nods until she can speak, \"Yes, I will agree wholeheartedly with you there. You can be a heartless, pompous ass, just as we all have our negative sides. \" Her voice stern as she says, \"No! No! Do you remember that day in the garden? Oh, its been so many months ago, perhaps you do not recall, but that was my first glimpse into the heart of Melethron.\" A smile slips over her lips as her eyes soften in remembrance, \"I still remember that day, the surprise that dawned over both of our faces as we realized.....oh, I dont know what we realized. Shall we say, we were just frozen in time by the moment of finally breaking down the wall of reserve and bitterness that had seemed to be a constant for our relationship. I will even go on to say this...no, perhaps it is better left unsaid at this point. \" Softly whispering, \"The docks of Pelagir will be forever burned into my memory and not for the obvious reasons that you think. Do not harshly condemn yourself Melethron, you have much to give some lucky woman, now believe me when I say that.\"

[Melethron(#29496)] Again he shifts, much like that of a little boy would when being chastised by his mother, but for a child to be near the middle of the span between six and seven feet in height seems to add a bit of oddity to the sight, especially when the boy is armored with a weapon of war belted upon his waist. But as the figiting stops, Melethron looks to the ground, his eyes dancing from side to side as the thoughts of the past scroll through his mind, \"Time comes and goes.. people change... love falters... light weakens...\" mumbling these things to himself, he seems to be trying to peice together the puzzle of his life, \"Anger destroys what the heart creates... Arrogance the eternal barrier...\" again he mumbles, then turns to Aearwen, his face looking as if he has discovered some new truth, \"But love...\" he says hurriedly, \"Love...\" the word spoken again just for the feel of it upon his lips, \"Love is never defeated, no matter how many times it falters, for in faltering love adapts to it\'s weaknesses making it stronger...\" But then, his head hangs again, \"But I am one without,\" he speaks theses words as his eyes close, \"Always the arrogant, always the proud,\" condemnation fills his words, \"And for these things I will never hold the love of a woman.\" Sentence is passed upon himself, grim and final does he speak these words only to repeat one, \"Never.\"

Resting her small hands on either side of Melethron\'s face, Aearwen shakes her head as she looks at him, \"No! Speak not those words. Never to know love? \" Her tiny arms slip up around Melethron\'s neck, her voice soft against his ear, \"Do not speak such words, they rip my heart out of my chest. Please do not,\" softly pleading as she says over and over, please, do not speak this way.\" A warm river of tears flow from her crystal blue eyes and drip onto his shoulder, \"I simply cannot bear to see you in pain.\"

[Melethron(#29496)] He breathes, that much can be felt upon the neck of the woman who holds him so begging for him never to utter those words again, yet his arms for the moment lay limp at his side. Though the tears spilt upon his shoulder cannot be felt for the cloth and metal covering it, the Knight finally places his arms about the woman careful not to hurt her in the grip of his well muscled arms, \"I...\" he says softly, \"I just do not know who I am...\" his breath is warm upon her ear, \"I just don\'t know.\"

Softly shushing Melethron, \"shhhhhh, shhhhhhhhhh, \" her voice soft and soothing as her hand tenderly strokes his head, Aearwen presses tightly against him. \"Shhhhhh, shhhhhh, you do know who you are Melethron...Shhhhhhhhh....shhhhhhh , you just lost your way.\" Turning her head and pressing her soft lips against his skin, she whispers, \"You just lost your way and now, now it is your job to find your way back to not only yourself, but to love. \" Her arms squeeze tightly as she continues, \"I am confidant that you can do it, you have so much to give\" Tilting her head back to gaze up at the tall man who\'s neck her arm\'s are entwined, \"You can do it....you can.\"

[Melethron(#29496)] As she leans back to look at his face, his arms loosen so that she does not have to bend at a completely awkward angle to gaze at him. He remains silent for awhile but then speaks, gazing into those tear streaked eyes, with the unfallen ones in his own making the silvery orbs that are his eyes, \"I remember that day in the garden,\" he says softly, \"The words I spoke to you...\" he seems reluctant, \"I...\" and they falter, a single tear racing down his cheek, the man of stone has crumbled.

Gently tracing the path of that tear, Aearwen smiles softly as her own tears course even harder down her beautiful face. Tilting her head to one side, her warm blue eyes gaze at the man before her. A bubbly, choked laugh spills from her lips, \"Here we stand in the moonlight, beside a lovely river and are we admiring the beauty? No, we are both crying.\" Falling against his chest, her arms slip around him as her cheek presses against the hardness of his armor, \"I shall forever be thankful for the emotion we share.\"

[Melethron(#29496)] As they stand there time does not stand still, no it presses ever onward and with that passing comes a blight on the weather this fine night, the clouds above begin to rumble with thunder, in the distance lightning sears the skies with it\'s brightness, and the gentle patter of rain can be heard all around as nature seeks to replinish the land. Yet by the banks of the creek, two stand, but from a distance in the night it appears as if they are only one. With his arms about her, Melethron sighes aloud, \"Is it so wrong to cry then?\" he ask her, a genuine question but it is clear that the meaning of the last part of which she spoke is unclear to him, yet he will not bring that question to light, he will not voice his feelings for another woman who is already the love of another.

[Elowyn(#1325)] As the lighting lights up the sky and the landscape, A lone figure can be seen walking along the stream. She looks up and spots the two figures entwined in the embrace of one\'s that appear to be in love. The figure stops as she studies to see if she can identify the two people. She nods with afirmation as she hears the distinctive knight\'s voice, but the remains silent to see if she can tell who the handsome knight is embracing.

Sighing softly as her cheek rests against Melethron\'s chest, the distant rumbling of thunder hardly audible over the steady beating of his heart. Her words are softly spoken, earnest, sincere words, \"Tis never wrong to cry Melethron, never. Tears are the very cleansing of our souls and much needed to keep us on track with life and the good in ourselves as well as the world around us. We have both seen and felt too much heartache and anguish in the last year. We have buried it deeply within ourselves, perhaps, even denying it was there to our own heart. But somehow, some way, it must escape and tonight it did, for us both. Leaning back to smile into his face, her soft hand presses against his cheek for a long moment, \"We have shared much and I thank you for tonight, it was as healing for me as I am sure it was for you.\" Tiptoeing up, she places one soft kiss against his mouth, not that of a lover, but of a loved one, a dear loved one. Smiling she says, \"Shall we now return to camp?\"

[Galdorim(#22020)] Striding along the road towards the bridge is Galdorim. He look to be searching for someone as the wind starts to pick up from the storm approaching. A bolt of lightning streaks across the sky as it lights up the knight and lady in an embrace and the he spots the kiss. The lieutenant\'s face grow grim as he see the tender kiss. His knuckles whiten on his axe in hand as his large arms tence up witht he fill of emotion that fills his large frame. He stands there in shock for a moment. His body quivering with arnger and disappointment. If his large hands could it would crush the handle of the axe he is holding.

[Melethron(#29496)] With the kiss passed, Melethron takes note of her final words and it is then that the approaching storm finds it\'s way into his attention, \"I believe we should,\" his voice much like it was before their little talk, but not completely, \"I was foolish to bring you out here... especially when there is the possibility of stumbling across those beast which we seek. Yet even though the words are spoken, the Knight does not move he seems to be waiting for something as he stands there with his arms about her, \"Thank you for tonight,\" he says finally, as the first drops of rain begin to fall upon their spot on the bank of the Mering.

[Elowyn(#1325)] A smirk cross Elowyns face as she sees the pair kiss and the knight hold the Lady healer close. She looks up and stops the tall looming shodow near the bride and remains silent as she wait to see how this love triangle will explode. She wraps her cloak more tightly around her as the rain starts to fall on her face.

Laughing softly as the first drops of rain pelt her face, Aearwen looks up and Melethron and suddenly chuckles even louder. Dancing around in a circle, her laughter bubbles forth like a spring, picking up her skirt she does a small curtsy, her head dipping a feigned noble tilt, \"I do believe Sir Knight, that I came after you when you stormed out of the camp. Now come, let us make haste before....\", her words stilling as she sees Galdorim on the bridge. Dropping her skirt, the laughter stops immediately as she notes the angry stance of his body. Her eyes close and her face tilts up to the sky as angry words spill out, \"Why....WHY! Does anger always have to follow such joy and a clearing of past hurt?\"

[Galdorim(#22020)] As the musical laughter of the woman he though loved him fills his ears. He scowl on his face grows harsher. He looks down at his white knuckled hand and back at the pair. He raises his axe in his hand and sends it down with a resounding thud into the meat of a thick railing of the bridge. The loud echo matches a a crash of thunder that deafen the lieutenant ears to the words that Aearwen cries out. The furious guardman just leaves his axe embedded deeply into the bridge and turns and strides purposfully back towards the camp. Galdorim slowly lowers the axe to ground, letting it fall.

[Melethron(#29496)] The sound of Aearwen\'s shout, and the crack of the axe causes Melethron to turn looking in the direction in which Galdorim is stalking towards, \"Again...\" he says to himself, \"I bring grief and heartbreak.\" In the span of mere seconds the time of joy has past, and with it the barrier Melethron had let go of has been erected again, though not quite as complete as it was before. Watching the man stalk away, the knight is soaked through by the falling rain for now the storm has broken in full, the thunder and lightning crashing all about.

[Elowyn(#1325)] The rain starts to come down heavier as the Lady merchant starts to feel the rain start to seep through her thick cloak. She tries to slip off up the slope towards the emcampment. The dirt around the stream quickly become slick mud when mixed with water, and Elowyn slips and falls with a loud yelp of surprise. She slides indignantally back down the embankment.

Rain dripping from her curls as she shakes her head, \"No Melethron, you do not bring grief and heartache. This was an unfortunate turn of events, granted, but not one that cannot be repaired. Now, I must go make things right with Galdorim.\" Without saying another word, she picks up her skirts and runs across the bridge, stopping to pull at the big axe buried in the wood. Cursing very unladylike words as she struggles to remove it, falling back to the other side of the bridge when the heavy weapon breaks free. Wiping her eyes as she struggles to see in the heavy downpour, not sure which direction from whence she came, Aearwen\'s panic is evident in her words, \"Galdorim! Galdorim!\", louder and louder she shouts as she stumbles across the bridge and into the field, her sodden skirts dragging across the dirt and grass. \"GALDORIM! Please, I must talk to you....Galdorim, PLEASE, \", her voice getting hoarse with the strain of her screams. Mindless of the blinding rain and lightening, she looks for her love.

[Galdorim(#22020)] The SIlver guard and other men of the camp are looking towards a seculded area away from the camp. There, occasionally lit by lightning, is the tall Lieutenant. He has a very large branch in his hands and swings it mightily at a thick trunk of a mighty oak. There is a loud crack as the branch cracks some. Galdorim the hefts the heavy branch again and send it again and again at the thrunch till he can not break the branch anymore. He does not say a word, but just meerly grunts as he breaks the branch into smaller parts.

Finally hearing a loud thud, Aearwen instintively goes toward the noise, looking for Galdorim. Blinking in the blinding rain, she watches him for a second before she screams out, \"No! Did you even bother to ask before you run off angry? Why do we have to do this again?\", Throwing his axe down on the ground she screams, \"There chop the whole damned tree down for all I care, I cannot fight with you again. If you wish to judge me guilty before you even hear my words, so be it.\"

Galdorim looks down at the axe and back at you. Veins in his face are very evident from his rage and physical exertion. \"What else is there for me to judge, wen. You kiss that...that knight, on the lips no less. The act I long to do every day, but can not do it for fear of acting unlike a noble.\" His face casts down at the muddy axe. \"I love you so Aearwen. I...I..\" He falls silent as he tries to gather his thoughts. \"I have missed you so much over the last few weeks. Everytime I try to find you, you are on some buisiness for the prince or I get detained with my duties.\" His voice cracks some as his emotions start to well up. \"I looked forward to this trip, so I could spend some quality time with you and I stumble onto ..that....\"

Elowyn \'s arms wrap around Melethron\'s neck as he carries her through the rain and over the slick mud. Her ankle throbs slightly as the noble knight carries her back towards camp. She says quietly \"There is nothing to take offence to, Melethron. Thank you for your kind assistance.\"

[Melethron(#29496)] Though the woman resting in his arms weighes little, the rain and mud make it a difficult trip back to the caravan, yet as they draw close the Knight\'s voice rings out, \"I need a healer,\" the cry so loud the sentries start with the suddeness of it

Her words harsh and bitter as she screams them out, \"What else is there for you to know? How dare you Galdorim, how DARE you! I have not seen you for weeks, only once since we returned from Harad and on that occasion we had words. What am I supposed to think? Were you there when I faced my father\'s wrath day after day?\", her voice unrecognizable as she continues to yell, \"Tell me Galdorim, were you there, beside me, supporting me, giving me the strength to withstand his words?\" Her head shakes and a bitter laugh rips out of her lips, \"I will answer it for you. I faced him alone, stood before him like a fool, declaring love for you. He all but laughed at me and inquired where my guardsman was......all I could do was stammer, stutter and wish to sink through the floor. \" Her finger comes up to shake in his face, \"Do you think that I do not wish to feel your lips upon mine? Know again the warmth of your arms encircling me, protecting me from the world? Oh nay, do not tell me for what you yearn, you do not ask what I miss and yearn for. But no, I have been trying to MAKE things right for us, to secure a future for us.....damn you, damn you Galdorim.\"

Galdorim looks at the face he loves so as her anger contorts it so. He does not seem to notice the finger wagging in his face as he takes in her harsh word. His jaw slackens some as she talks of talking of her elusive father and her encounters with him. His large brow ruffles with puzzlement. \"Your father was in Minas Tirith?? Why did not not send for me? I would of gladly shurked my duties to face your father by your side!\" He shakes his head and sighs deeply as it seem his anger as faded with on of the flashes of lightning lighting the sky. \"You faced your father alone because you did not let me know he was in town. I am not THAT hard to get ahold of, Aearwen. Did you not want me there? Or was it shame? I have the letter of the prince and was ready to face him at your side! Why? Why did no not send for me?\" His face looks upon you with befuddlement and with hurt.

Elowyn shakes her head as she clings to the strong knight that easily wisks to shelter. \"No, do not both the healers. My ankle is not that bad. Just set me down under the shelter of the pavillion and some nice hot tea will warm me.\" She smiles at the handsome knight\'s face as he calls out.

[Melethron(#29496)] \"Nonsense,\" the Knigt mutters, \"If you have broken your ankle it will need tending, and I am not setting you down until you are in the care of a healer,\" he is stubborn about this, and once again his cry goes out, this time closer to camp, \"I need a healer over here!\"

The anger suddenly sapping every ounce of her energy as she hears Galdorim\'s words. A look of disbelief clearly written on her face, \"Why did I not send word for you?\", shocked into pausing in her words, the rain continuing to pelt her face as she stares at Galdorim. \"My father sent word to you of his arrival and the times of our meetings Galdorim. What choice did I have but to face him alone when you did not arrive at the appointed time?\", her words softly spoken, \"What choice did I have?\" Disbelief mars her face as she says, \"Oh no, surely he would not be so cruel as to put us to the test in that manner. Making me believe you did not care enough to show you and then you being hurt and feeling that I was ashamed of you when you found out he had been in town for a meeting. No, surely, not....but what other explanation can be had?\" Her eyes holding Galdorim\'s as she says, \"My hurt is grievious right now, it has been like a river raging through me since that day in the White Tree Tavern and has not abated, only increasing with each barb that my father threw my way. And tonight, I felt Melethron\'s pain. As you know, he and I are cousins and during the many skirmishes over the last few months, we are close. Anyway, to make a long story short, we talked, cried and relieved some of the burdens on our hearts. The hug and kiss you saw was a sweet thank you for that Galdorim, not a lovers kiss, but one of love.

Galdorim straighten up to his full height as his eyes widen. \"~I~ recieved no missive from your father. He has not sent me ~any~ personal message what so ever...even a reply from my initial missive I sent to him.\" He shakes his head and looks appologetically. His hand reaches out as if he wants to stroke you flawless face, but he drops it heavily. \"I am sorry to jump so quickly to conclusions, my love. I feel so...un worth of your love. Please forgive me...\" His head drops slightly as he awaits her responce.

Elowyn places a petitle hand on the shoulder of the concerned knight. \"my ankle is not broken, Melethron. You can be rest assused at that.\" She smiles at the brave courtious knight. \"Please, just set me down under the pavillion and I will be fine.\"

Melethron sighes and nods, casting a fleeting glance at Galdorim and Aearwen, before marching to the Pavillion and settling Elowyn down upon her own feet once more, \"I will see that a healer comes by soon,\" he says softly, \"I can\'t imagine what you were doing out there.\"

Discouragement slumping her shoulders as her words are pain filled, \"My father would have no wish to harm his daughter, would he?\" Her stormy blue eyes puzzled and hurt, \"Perhaps the messenger gave the missives to the wrong person, I cannot believe my father would be so cruel. He has always been such a warm, loving, kind person, truly he has Galdorim.\", her voice catching in her throat as she continues \"I know not what to think anymore..\" Closing her eyes she is barely able to squeak ou the words, \"Please Galdorim, just hold me. I care not who sees, just hold me in your arms and reassure me that my world is safe and sound.\" Stumbling against him, before he has a chance to reply, her arms slip around his waist as she gazes up at the man she loves, \"Please kiss these lips that you have yearned to kiss....let us fight no more.\"

Elowyn grimaces slightly as she puts weight on her twisted ankle. She looks for assistance once against from the valiant knight. \"Could you help me to the chair, Melethron. Then you and be rid of the burden of helping me on this miserable night.\"

Melethron nods silently, offering his arm to her for assistance into the chair.

Galdorim seems initially surprised as Aearwen quick embrace, as his arms wrap around her hesitanatally. A broad smile crosses the large Lieutenant\'s face as he quickly pulls his only and true love close to him. He gazes down into her soft beautiful face and reaches up and strokes the rain water from her cheek before he leans down and places a soft tender kiss on the soft lips of Aearwen. He breaks the kiss briefly and whispers. \"I have missed this so...\" He then brushes his lips tenderly over hers again.

Elowyn slips her hand in the cross of Melethron\'s offered arm as he assistes her to the chair. She then settles down in it and sighs with relief as thepressure is taken off her ankle. \"Thank you again. You are such a kind courtious man.\"

\" Melethron nods quickly, and bows to the lady, \"I will send for your lady in waiting, then see to getting a healer for you.\" With little else said, he turns and walks off into the camp, moments later the ladies servants come to her one bearing tea, the other a dry cloak for her to put around her shoulders. The healer arrives just shy of five minute behind the servants, but nothing is broken, mearly a lite sprain.

Slipping her arms up around Galdorim\'s neck, Aearwen starts to cry again at the beauty of his kiss. Her arms tighten around his neck as her body quakes with her sobs, \"I have missed...you so...much. I...couldnt...believe when...you didnt show up.\" Her hands holding tightly onto him as she kisses him over and over, a kiss between each sobbing word, emotion quaking her entire body. Finally her sobbing subsides and her lips press against his for a tender kiss, lightly brushing her lips against his again before she softly says, \"I love you Galdorim, never doubt it again. If there is something you question, then please, come to me before you go off on a rampage and I will honour you in the same respect.\" Shuddering slightly as she is suddenly aware of her soaked clothing and the lateness of the hour. Tiptoeing up for one last kiss, \"Let\'s return to the camp before anymore chaos can befall us tonight.\", her fingers entwining with his as she smiles softly.

[Elowyn(#1325)] After the healer takes care of her ankle and she drinksher tea. Elowyn then retires to her tent so she can rest and be ready for the next day\'s travels. She casts a thankful look towards the knight\'s tent before she goes into hers and dreams pleasant dreams.

[Melethron(#29496)] There in the night, in the shadow of a wagon the Knight rest, his eyes upon his cousin and her love. Cloaked as he is in the color of shadows and hooded now, the man is nearly invisible, save to a young boy who stands near him, \"Ready my horse,\" he says to the lad, \"Then get some rest, you have a long day before you in the morn.\"

Galdorim \'s large caloused hand entwines with Aearwen\'s soft smooth one as he escorts her back towards camp. \"Yes, we need to get you warm and dry. I would hate to see you sickened from getting wet from this storm that I kept you out in.\" He chuckles softly as he leads her back into camp and to her tent.
