Dol Amroth: The Golden Kraken Inn - Tavern

The Kraken\'s tavern is not as large as the Common room on the other side of the Inn\'s entryway--nor is it as cleanly kempt. Nearly circular, the room shares with its western counterpart the dark-fibred wood structure, black lebethron beams arching up to melt into the shadows of the ceiling. At their apex hangs a small, rather dingy chandelier suspended by a chain of black wrought iron, directly above a rather battered table. A small hearth is set in the northern end of the room, and on the southern wall is a horseshoe-shaped bar, behind which stands the hulking bartender.

The room is fairly sparsely populated during daylight hours...a few die-hard drunks lounge around at the bar and at various tables, and in the shadows at the edge of the room eyes glitter as they focus on you. Oddly enough, this is one of the few places in Dol Amroth that is safer at night...

[Galdorim(#22020)] Not touching his ale, Galdorim just stares down at the golden liquid in his tankard. He sighs deeply and sets it down with a thud as some of the ale sloshes onto the table he is seated. The Commander picks up the lacey, embroidered handcherchief that was on the table and tucks it back into his belt so it drapes over it again.

Lodogran gets up, having eaten all his eggs. Though before shouting he call the waitress, leaving some money behind him to pay for the food. Then, he heads for the door, but as he does so he notices the commander and the hancerchief. He stands still for a moment, looking at the door and then back at the commander, as if desciding whether he should take a run for it or if he should go suck up a bit. He looks back and forth between the commander and the door a few times before his legs start taking him to him.

Galdorim picks his tankard back up as looks down at the ale that has not been touched yet. One of the bar maids come over as asks, \"Can I get ya another ale, Commander, or are you still working on that one?\" THe Commander looks over and shakes his head. \"No, I am fine right now...\" His voice sounds forlorn and depressed.

Krisorn comes through the front door in a loud explosion of self. The door itself almost seems to be getting ready to strike the wall before Krisorn\'s arm catches it, closing it quickly behind him. He stands there a moment, looking at the crowd, and without stopping his survey he bellows out, \"Somebody get me an ale! I\'m parched as a three year drought.\" He glances around and the sight of Galdorim stops him for a moment before he walks on over towards the commander. He recognizes Lodogran and a grimace almost seems to pass over his face before he surpresses it, \"Galdorim, Sar. I wondered where you had gotten yourself off to?\" Krisorn says loudly.

Lodogran goes and stands next to the commander\'s table, giving him the usual salute before speaking. \"Hello sir\" he speaks, \"Mind if I give you company?\" he then adds on. WHen the door bursts open he turns around seeing Krisorn, and the same grimace arrives on his face, but he supresses it too...

Galdorim looks up at Krisorn with a puzzled look. His deep voice entones. \"Krisorn, You are new, but you should salute when you approch a superior officer. Anyway, was someone looking for me?\" He looks at Krisorn waiting for his replay and salute.

When Lodogran approaches Galdorim he returns his salute with his fist crossing his broad chest.

Lodogran covers his mouth, snickering as he notices Krisorn\'s mistake and the commander\'s reply. His eyes glimp over to Krisorn, hoping for another mistake that will amuse him dearly....

Krisorn nods and gazes at Galdorim deeply before replying, \"Of course Commander. I had forgotten. Though I am not here on duty but rather off duty. I had not been informed that I needed to follow quite the same protocols.\" he says formally. \"No one has inquired into your whereabouts Commander.\" Krisorn salutes having finished his report. His eyes look over Galdorim, resting for a moment on the well nursed Ale and then on the handkerchief, \"Sir, permission to speak frankly as we have done in the past at Harad.\"

Galdorim returns the salute towards Krisorn and nods. His large hand motions to an empty seat. His eyes cut to Lodogran and frowns deeply at him as he sees him making fun of his fellow guard\'s misunderstanding. \"Lodogran, the guard is a family. They should help each other out and not riducule each other\'s mistakes.\"

Krisorn glances over at Lodogran briefly, and then takes a seat, a mug of Ale appearing in front of him from a barmaid who has been standing to the side, waiting out the actions before her. Krisorn thanks her briefly and his soft words, and flashing coin, bring a rather interesting look from the barmaid before she saunters off again. Krisorn glances after her for a moment and then turns back to the table and takes a deep drink before saying anything. He looks like a man preparing himself for a dive. He puts down his drink and then looks at Galdorim, \'Sir, you look terrible. If I didn\'t know better I would say somebody had stolen your heart and then returned it to you at the worst possible time. Correct me if I\'m out of line or wrong sir but has some woman gotten to you Sar?\"

Lodogran covers his grin, trying to make it go away, but in reality he is already trying not to burst out in laughter. \"I\'m sorry sir\" he snivels. \"It\'s just funny, and it\'s not like we exactly like eachother, I faced him at the riot.\" he then adds on. Lodogran is still standing in front of the table Galdorim is sitting at, his eyes gaze a second at Krisorn\'s familiarity with the commander and the impudence his actions speak off. How does that guy dare to ask such questions at the commander?

Galdorim frowns deeply at Lodogran and then looks over at Krisorn. \"If you two have differences, I suggest you do not bring it on duty. If I see you feuding on duty, you will have to deal with me...\" He looks over at krisorn and shakes his head as he addresses his inquiry. \"Let me give you a piece of advice, Krisorn. Do not persue a relationship with a lady of Dol Amroth. It will only end with heartbreak..\"

Lodogran nods fairly at the commander, but remains stationary. \"Yes sir!\" he says in a military tone, once more saluting, quickly bringing his hand to his chest, immediatly redrawing it after it hit the chest. He puts himself in the military pose, be it his day off or not.

Krisorn looks over at Lodogran and a smile forms for a moment, \"Sir I don\'t think Lodogran and I will have any problems on duty. We\'ll keep our disagreements off duty where they don\'t affect or reflect upon the guard. Tell me though sir. Why should the ladies of Dol Amroth differ from those of Minas Tirith. Maybe, m\'lord you need merely to pursue them differently.\"

Galdorim looks at Lodogran and Krisorn with a nod. \"Very well.\" His eyes look to Lodogran. \"You are offduty here, Lodogran. I just require a salute when we meet. At ease..\" He chuckles softly and motions Lodogran to an empty chair. He then looks to Krisorn and shakes his head. \"The Ladies od Dol Amroth..not just the ladies...the Nobles of Dol Amroth have a feeling of Self-importance that go above personal feelings. \"

[Icarus(#30063)] The door opens and young man enters the tavern. He looks around the room wondering if knows anyone. Seeing the group of people from Minas Tirith, Icarus smiles at them and he waves at the him his left hand. Moving closer, he salutes the Commander, you can see in his face that his right hand still a bit sore.

Lodogran nods softly as he grabs the chair by it\'s collar, grabs it pulling it off the ground and puts it down a little further. Then he sits down, a bit stiffly in his actions ofcourse. When finally having sitten down, he shuffles his seat back to the table, producing a scraping sound on the floor. Then having noticed Icarus he smiles, already pulling out the seat next to him, preparing it for Icarus.

Krisorn nods, leaning back in his chair for a moment as if thinking, \"Well. It does seem that the nobles of Dol Amorth do have a puffed up view of their own importance. Though they are quite noble allies and valiant fighters as you and I saw at Harad, my friend, they certainly don\'t seem to see us as equals to their women. And yet, as you are a commander to the Stewards own guard I find it difficult to believe they would wish to slight you as being less than their equal. Especially since you have proved yourself time and again to their people. Come my friend, is there any more to this woman\'s dismissal of your suit? Mayhap you need to fight the swan knights with their own weapons of words and song? Might it be your lady feels a lack that can come from our long times away fighting?\"

Krisorn looks up, having finished his brew and notices the young Guardsman Icarus, he waves him over to the table with the Commander and Lodogran and himself and says, \'Join us Icarus. We have need of your youth if nothing else. Come, join us and have a drink on an old man like me. Barmaid! Two ales from my friend here and myself!\"

Icarus sits at the chair that Lodogran pulled out.\"Thank you Krisorn. It\'s good to see you again. How is life in the guard\" he says with a grin. Icarus look at Lodogran and then at Krisorn, remembering what happend at Minad Tirith. The barmaid brings a cup of ale in front of Icarus, raising his cup he says \"To Gondor, the Steward and the Guard of Minas Tirith\"and then takes a sip.

Lodogran grabs his ale, heaves it high in the air and repeats Icarus words, \"To us!\" he speaks, then with a glance at Krisorn and a wide grin on his face he continues, \"The benevolent guardians of Minas Tirith\" he says making sure to put some stress on the benevolent part.

[Maernus(#17520)] A clanking on wood of the building can be heard as the figure of Maernus Calgar enters the room. His cloaking swirling around him as he walks and he hoodless head bearing a smile. His eyes seem lit by some unearthly fire and he carries a pack lightly upon his back. He looks towards Icarus and smiles slightly more.

Krisorn nearly guffaws listening to Lodogran\'s toast and then shrugs, \"To us and to Minas Tirith, our home and the reason we shall fight to the death against any who would harm her.\"
