(Archive) Azrubel Chronicles Part 1: Arguments
From the archives of the Gondorian
Krisorn and Icarus come in on the tale of an arguement between the Lady Elowyn and Commander Galdorim and find themselves tracking down the criminal Zistiran. Estimated date is 2000.
The door opens and in steps the guardsmen Krisorn and Icarus(if he hasn\'t posed coming in yet). Krisorn steps stutter seeing the Lady Elowyn and he looks curious for a moment before he regains his composure and he steps smartly in front of Galdorim\'s desk and salutes, \"Guardsman Krisorn reporting Commander. It\'s on the matter of the recent death of Dearen sir.\" Krisorn looks over at Elowyn out of the corner of his eye trying to guage the ladies mood and what is going on here. The faintest glimmer of curiosity is in Krisorn\'s eyes.
Elowyn \'s small handsd ball intosmallfists as she listens to Galdorim\'s responce. She yells out to the country Commander. \"Is that all you have to say?!\" She stomps her booted foot in the ground. \"If you plan on spreading lies about me, please do not say it to people that will assuredly tell me what you said! It shows you lack of intellegence and upbringing!\"
[Icarus(#30063)] Walking in with Krisorn, is Icarus. Arriving at Galdorim\'s desk, he snaps on a salute, \"Corporal Icarus, reporting as ordered sir.\" His eyes turn towards Lady Elowyn raising an eyebrow, as she speaks out to Galdorim, but remains silent, awaiting the Commander\'s response.
Galdorim smirks slightly as the Commander holds his temper. He looks over to his two guardsmen that just entered. He says in a deep restained voice. \"Krisorn, please escort this ...Lady..out and make sure she does not linger for her tongue is loose and we do not want our conversations shouted down the embrasure of Minas Tirith.\" When the Commander calls Elowyn a lady he says it dripping iwth sarcasm.
Krisorn blinks at the Commander\'s words but there is little hesistation beyond that brief moment. He turns smartly to the Lady Elowyn and says softly, his voice quiet and quite soft but solid, \"M\'lady if you would accompany me.\" He holds out a hand to her that she may take so that he can escort her out.
Elowyn \'s dark eyes glare at Galdorim as if they could shoot daggers out the the lieing Commander. Her hand sweeps across his desk as she scatters papers to the four corners of the room. She looks to Krisorn as she holds her temper. \"I will gladly go, Krisorn! \" She shoots a hatefill glance to Galdorim. \"Too bad he did not finish the job on you. Minas Tirith would be a better place.\" She then glides out in a huff and slams the door behind her.
Icarus looks at the scene evolving in front of him. He looks at Elowyn leaving and as the door slams shut, turns to face the Commander with a puzzled look on his face. After a few seconds, he slowly starts picking up the papers on the floor. Having a stack of them, Icarus puts them back on the desk, without saying a word.
Krisorn blinks at the ladies exit and takes the time to avoid the slamming door, opening it shortly after she has left to follow her out and make sure, as the Commander has requested, that she does not linger. He quietly whispers something to one of the guardsman on duty before slipping back into the Commanders office. Having turned over the duty of escorting the Lady Elowyn out to another.
Galdorim watches Elowyn storm out. He shakes his head and takes a sips of his mug of tea. Waiting for Krisorn to join them before he addresses the two guards before him. \"Now, what was this about Daeren, Krisorn?\" He looks to his long time friend for the report he initially came to give.
Krisorn relaxes as he stands before Galdorim and then sighs softly, \"It\'s not good Galdorim. It turns out that Dearen had been adding poison to your healing herbs.A slow method of killing you admittedly but quite effective. I believe that Azrubel, or whoever is behind him, became upset when Dearen lost control of your care to Aearwen and had him killed to protect information he would know. In truth I\'ve picked up a lead or two that makes me think Dearen may have known several of those involved in the plots. Though I can\'t be sure.\" Krisorn looks concerned for a moment and then says softly, \"Tell me Commander, how well do you trust Faengor, your messenger?\"
Icarus turns towards the Man-At-Arms, making his way back. Currious about his findings, Icarus pulls a chair but quickly stops glancing back at the Commander. Turning his attention back to Krisorn, he listens to the report of the guardsman \"That much we suspected about Dearen, at least now we are sure but Faengor?\",Icarus says, turning his stare at Galdorim as he mentions the messanger\'s name.
Galdorim \'s fingers strokes his thick beard as he ponders Krisorn\'s question. \"If you would of asked me that last week, I would of told you that I trusted him with my life.\" He sighs and shakes his head. \"I trust him, but I am not sure how well he can be trusted since his mind is being clouded by his heart. He has taken a fancy to the merchant who just left and does not believe what I have told him about her...\" He looks at the paper that Elowyn gave him and shakes his head. \"It is hard to say who you can trust now a days..\"
Krisorn sighs and says, \"I have reason to believe that Faengor may have been.. corrupted or at least he\'s unwitting aiding the enemy.\" Krisorn looks concerned and says, \"I already know one name for sure though and well. Commander I need your permission to break a guardsman. Should Azrubel or his superiors find out that I have a specific name the man I\'m looking for may disappear. And we can\'t afford that right now. So I need permission and some aid to catch our crook.\" Krisorn looks at Icarus and then back to Commander Galdorim.
[Icarus(#30063)] \"If this is true, some of our men may be in trouble. Faengor knows of our plans. We must assume that they know of our current plots to infiltrate them. I suggest I give false reports to Faengor that are met for you, until we are sure of his position.\"Icarus says. Turning towards Krisorn he says lowering his voice, \"Of which guard do you speak?\"
Galdorim frowns deeply as she listens to Krisorn. \"I hope you have proof of what you say about Faengor before you go around saying things like that!\" His large hand forms a fist and he sighs with frustration. \"And which guardsman are you intending to \'break\' I need to know your plan. Maybe give you something in writting if it might get you in trouble..\"
Krisorn nods and says, \"For now I only have suspicions and some circumstantial evidence Commander about Faengor. But it was the Guardsman Zistiran that I and the others caught murdering that young woman. I know where Zistiran is currently stationed and I plan to take him into custody after one of his shifts so that wehave the most time possible to interrogate him.\"
[Galdorim(#22020)] \"I wish to see what evidence you have on my messenger circumstantial or not. I do not want him pivy to secret information of he can not be trusted.\" Galdorim snaps out of frustration. \"This Zistiran I do not know. Where is he posted and what Company and squad is he posted it?\"
Krisorn looks a bit concerned for a time and then reaches into a pouch at his side. He draws out a scroll and hands it to Galdorim, \"This was given to me by somebody and was found amongst some of Dearen\'s things. I\'ve got another copy put away listing the names and what.. Faengor\'s showed up on it. So I was a little concerned. As for Zistiran.. He\'s with White tree company. He\'s been posted to the Hall of Healing. I believe he may have been involved with Dearen and it\'s hard to say what other positions have been suborned.\"
[Galdorim(#22020)] \"In the House of Healing? How long have you know he was posted there?! You ae putting Lady Aearwen at risk!\" He stands up and points to the door. \"Go brings this murdering guard to me dead or alive. Peferabally alive! Go now and make sure Aearwen is safe. I will look over this list and consider it\'s ramifications.\"
Krisorn blinks and says, \"Commander, the Lady Aearwen may be safer than you realize. And the confusion that Azrubel has sown has kept me from being able to take that murderer into custody. In truth I was planning to confront him that day that Dearen died and Azrubel showed up in the Hall of Healing, but your request that I accompany Aearwen to your office kept me from catching up with the fiend. I will go now though. And.. I\'ll bring him back.\" Krisorn turns and with him goes Icarus as the two guardsmen resolutely head off to take Zistiran into custody. Krisorn absently pats his axe as he goes and it almost seems like he is waiting for somebody to try and stop him.
