Patrol is lost

In this scene is Bulug (Bugs temp) Menelglir, Brethir (for a few poses) and Turlach

It is just now mid-day in the ruined Gondorian city of Osgiliath, snow covers the ground and icicles hang from everywhere, looking as great spears.. It seems that this day the ice could possible be a threat to any who wonder these broken ruins. The sky is covered with dark stormy clouds this day, a storm seems to be on the verge of erupting. The Uruk Bulug with a small party of Uruks scout the area.

Slowly the Uruk move about the ruins, keeping to the dark shadows of the ruined city.. Moving quickly and silently about.. Some with bows and arrows notched ready to take aim at any they see, while others like Bulug has his hand upon his scimitar.

Led by one of the Rangers of Faramir\'s Company, a party of men of Gondor is stealthily making its way through this ruined political area. Most of the men this day are Scouts, but Menelglir, Squiire of Dol Amroth, follows. The Squire is doing his best to be as silent as the Scouts, but even so, his boots squeak in the snow. He winces.

Brethir in the group of scouts is one named Brethir ready for combat he marches with the group

Slowly and silently the party of Uruk still moves about the ruined city.. Slowly they come to a halt near a broken down wall, a site that could offer a great deal of protection from arrow fire.. Slowly the uruk Bulug raises his head, seeing the patrol of Gondorian.. Snickering softly he whispers so that only his men can her \"Take aim.. We eat well tonight..\"

Hearing these words the Uruk ready their bows and notch crude arrows.. All at once five of the foul creatures release arrows.. Aimed at the Gondoiran patrol, then as quickly as they fire.. They disappear once again.

The Rangers spring to life. Black-fletched arrows pepper the ground around the company, and the leading Ranger indicates that they should spread out. At the same time, those with bows loose their own arrows toward the orc patrol--but stop abruptly as the orcs disappear.

\"Where did they go?\" Menelglir hisses. Led by the Ranger, the company slowly edges forward, spread out and seeking cover as they can behind rubble even as they move ahead.

Brethir moveing along with the group through rocks and rubble looks and looks but can not find the enemy.

Quickly the Uruks fan out, taking up different positions about the ruins.. All still hidden from sight.. Then the shriek is heard.. And moments later the five Uruks appear once again, though this time from scattered locations. And releasing their crude arrows again at the Gondorian patrol.. Disappearing again, though this time it may be easier to spot them for the Patrol is surely looking this time..

Menelglir pages: we can start to fight and he\'ll probably go when he loses to you?

p if I can beat him. I have to +training.

You paged Menelglir with \'if I can beat him. I have to +training.\'.

\"There!\" Menelglir says, spotting a few orcs. Sword drawn, he starts sprinting toward them, followed by more of the patrol, which is spreading out to take off after the orcs. The Squire uses his shield to ward off arrows, his sword in his other hand.

Brethir gets behind a block of rubble and aims for the orcs that are attacking, arrows fill the sky as the rangers and scouts fire their bolts

If the Gondorians expect to find the Uruk scout in the same location, they will be sorely disappointed.. For after they shot they moved once again, to different locations. Remaining in hiding they wait.. Then the same shriek is heard, this time though it is different for nothing happens.. All is silent except for the wind..

Moments go by, and then the Uruks appear again, though this time only three of them fire their crude arrows.. The other two, along with a third.. The apparent shrieker, weapons drawn and rushing the Gondorians from the side.

Caught by surprise by the three rushing orcs, Menelglir in turn rushes forward, trying to punch at the orcs with his shield at the same time that he hacks down with his sword to the second orc. This leaves the third orc still undefended, but the Squire is hard pressed. Others of the patrol surge forward.

\"Find them!! Where do they go!\" the company bellows.

Turlach has been crouched behind a wall, his sword drawn and the broken stone solid against his back. Now he gives a high-pitched yell, seeing the Squire\'s predicament, and rushes from behind his cover, lunging at the third ambushing orc.

Be it the shriek by the young Man-at-Arms or the number of the patrol, but the three orcs, skid to a halt.. Sneer at their enemies and turn about.. Running for their lives it would seem.. For as they run the other orcs are standing near some broken buildings, firing crude arrows at the Gondorian patrol once again.. And then the party disappears.. One by one..

\"Turlach!\" Menelglir shouts, gesuring with his sword to express the rest of what he is unable to say in the heat of the moment. That is: The Squire takes off at a run after the orcs, not thinking what sort of predicament this might put him in.

Turlach glances towards the Squire -- and then he is off as well, dashing over the snow in pursuit of Menelglir. He is slowly getting used to the weight of his armor, and runs swiftly ... \"They fell down the ice,\" the boy says breathlessly, obviously confused at the disappearance of their enemies.

Inside these ruins are but three Uruks.. They face the entrance, crude swords at he ready, glaring at any who may enter.. Screeching is the Uruk in the middle, his eyes red with rage and ready to kill..

Some sort of battle rage has taken Menelglir over, for heedless of his own safety, he rushes into the ruins after the orcs. And then, seeing that there are but three orcs here, he lunges forward, sword thrusting toward the foremost orc.

\"Menelglir!\" Turlach slips through the entrance, suddenly blinded by the darkness that is so different from the white snow without. He stands very still while discerning the position of a second orc, and darts abruptly in that direction, cold steel bared.

Seeing the two Gondorians enter the ruins and attack the Uruks spring into action, swinging their crude swords. The one facing the squire, side steps and thrusts his scimitar at the squires face.. Screeching loudly as he does so.

the Uruk that the Man-at-Arms rushes, is caught off guard.. For his is run though.. Coughing blood all over his murderer.. Seeing this the third Uruk rushes the Man-at-Arms swinging his axe at the mans shoulder.

Lunging backwards to get out of the way of the sword thrust, Menelglir\'s balance is precarious. He scrambles to get his footing again, swinging wildly with his sword to try to fend off the orc\'s attack.

As Menelglir attacks again, the Uruk grunts and sidesteps just evading the attack.. Then lunging forward he attacks with his scimitar in a downward strike, aimed for the shoulder of the Squire grumbling \"You look tasty.. You do\"

As Turlach\'s sword pierces the body of the orc, the blood flows onto his hands, splattering over the front of his tabard -- warm, sticky, dark, like everything else in this ruin. Unable to see, the Man-at-Arms pulls vainly on the sword-hilt in an attempt to dislodge it from the ribcage. But it is then that the third uruk comes up unseen, and his axe-blade lodges deep into the Man-at-Arms\'s leather pauldron, cutting into flesh and leaving a deep gash.

Turlach roars, kicking back at his attacker with his boot.

The boot of the Man-at-Arms strikes the Uruk upon the shin.. Causing him to screech loudly in pain.. Dropping his axe at this he then lunges at the man again, as if trying to bite at the mans neck.. Clawing and scratching at his face, a picture of fury.

The sun sets and leaves the night in a deep gloom as the smoke from the east covers up any sign of the stars.

The orc\'s blow resounds on Menelglir\'s shield, which shatters from the blow. The Squire is screaming now, too, and desperate. He smashes his sword forward blindly, and tries to slip toward Turlach.

The strike by the Squire is true for it thrusts deep into the Uruks shoulder.. Cutting a deep wound that begins to bleed heavily. Backing away the Uruk reaches for his injured shoulder, grasping it and shouting \"You will boil for that.. Man Flesh soup..\"

There are fangs and claws at Turlach\'s neck, and he gasps sharply, slipping back against the wall in an effort to remove the attached orc. One hand begins to slip the sword loose, slick with the blood of the uruk\'s companion. He bashes it towards the gut of the third, sharp-toothed orc.

\"Turlach!\" Menelglir screams, lunging toward the Man-at-Arms and trying to hack down with his sword at Turlach\'s attacker. \"This way!! This way!!\" he shouts.

The third attacking Uruk is stabbed by the blade of the Man-at-Arms.. A large gash upon his middle.. Spilling blood and intestines.. While still clawing at the face of the man.

At this time more Uruks enter the ruins.. Headed for the two Gondorians at a full run.. Crude weapons drawn and screaming things that can not be understood by any man.

Menelglir, in a panic from the new rush of orcs, lunges for Turlach\'s arm to try to -pull- the Man-at-Arms along and further into the darkness now instead of the rubble entrance he had originally been heding toward.

Turlach slips out from behind the orc and scrabbles blindly towards the Squire\'s shout, a hand clamped to the cut on his shoulder to not leave a sniffable trail. He plunges into the gloom after Menelglir.

The two young men now stumble blindly into the darkness, when Menelglir gives a sudden shout!

Under the cover of midnight, a \'secret\' meeting was held in the gloom of the forest, away from the prying eyes of the Northern and Eastern encampments. The Morian wolf-rider, BULBURZ, whispered about a strange message that he claimed to have been from the \'Flame and Shadow\': something involving an ancient artifact in the form of a \'bat-fell\', and that he had been bidden to seek out a shaman who wears \'the crow\' and that only that shaman may unravel the riddle and discover where the item is hidden.

\"What is it?\" says the other Gondorian voice, panting heavily. The armor is heavy, after all.

The gutted Uruk falls from the man.. Limp.. Dead.. Lifeless the other Uruks rush after the men, two of them tumbling over one another trying to get at them.. But still they peruse the men, full of rage and malice.. Screeching as they move.

But Menelglir\'s answer is just a sudden scream. He\'s falling now -and- he still has a grip on Turlach\'s arm, pulling him down. Apparently into a man-sized hole in the ground!

p want me to follow? or say they lose sight and then are called back to the surface to help with the rangers..

You paged Menelglir with \'want me to follow? or say they lose sight and then are called back to the surface to help with the rangers..\'.

Menelglir pages: hrm...called back I think

Turlach, by association, plummets. Also screaming. It is a wonder he doesn\'t stab Menelglir with his sword, flailing to get a hold on something -- anything to keep him from falling!

\"Tuuuurrrllaaaach!!!\" Menelglir plummets...

Silence.

As if by magic the two men disappear.. They are gone.. Stopping in there tracks a Screech is heard coming from the surface.. And grumbling the Uruks turn about rushing back to the surface to finish off the patrol..

Silence, except for the steady drip of melting snow that flows between the stones. If the two youths are still intact, they are not awake.
