Dol Amroth: Prince\'s Castle - Grand Hall of the Stars
If the eyes of Men are drawn to the heavens, then let them look here into the breathtaking heights and be never dismayed the great dome of the Grand Hall rises far above the earth in all its splendour. Galleries ring the rotunda at every level, and the majesty that is the birthright of Numenor\'s descendants has its heart here, in the vastness of this circular, soaring chamber. It is not so much a hall as it is the nave of a cathedral.
The skylight-windows at the dome\'s distant apex allow the natural light of the day into the hall, yet the marble stonework and polished lebethron of this place retain a chill, untouchable dignity. Grand archways lead east, to the Hall of Armor, and west, ultimately to the throne room, but a man stood at the one side would need shout for his opposite to hear him. A carpeted stair leads upward, and to the galleries that ring the open space high above.

The bright light of morning shines through the high windows. The voices of birds can be heard faintly on the light breeze that fills the room. Leaning against a wall Drenlyn, blue squire of the Knight-Herald, calmly chooses on a loaf of bread listening to the sweet song of the birds. Looking up at the heights of the dome Drenlyn sighs. Returning to his meal, Drenlyn continues to examine the small details of the hall.
In a distant corner of the hall a white squire casually leans against a wall, paying no attention whatsoever to the magnificent dome above. Instead he stares at the floor as though in a daze, though perhaps merely deep in thought.
From the carpeted stairs a figure dressed in white descends the stairs. Upon closer examination you can see the figure wears a great white cloak, and it seems that there is something large strapped against his back under the cloak, upon his belt is sheathed a standard long sword that is polished to a shine, and upon his breast is a Silver Ram standing tall and proud. His raven black hair flutters around his face as a wind from the sea passes him, and he looks out about the hall as if in search of someone.
Thregomir slenders in from the west archway. The sounds of his steps get lost in this famous Hall - in admiration he halts and smiles, when the sunlight from the dome - high above - hits his face.
Overwhelmed of the beauty - and the might - of this cathedral, the young man seeks for the shadows at the walls.
Whilst absent-mindedly picking his teeth, Morrandir acknowledges Falathel\'s entrance with a friendly nod.
Starring at the newcomers and his fellow squire leaning against the fair wall, Drenlyn lets out a hardy chuckle. Moving towards the smiling merchant, a grin bursts over Drenlyn\'s face as the newcomer moves into the shadows.
Waving to his fellow squire as he approaches this shy man, Drenlyn eyes him carefully but breaks out, \"Good morrow sir, it appears that you have yet to see such vast halls in your days. By the looks of you, you come from Pelagir, which indeed is a coincidence, for my family now lives there.\"
Not noticing who he is looking for the figure in white sighs. Looking at the two standing against the wall not so far away he stalks quietly over to them. And says \"Hullo good sirs\" In greeting.
Taking off his dusty mantle, one can see, that the young man must be a merchant.
Thregomir says, \"Greetings, Sire, I am ... yes, I came all the way from Pelargir...\"
Looking up and down Thregomir, Morrandir calmly says \"Your a merchant. Like my father.\" Perhaps a little rude, but not unkindly.
Thregomir says, \"Sire... uhum... My father is a merchant, which is true... but me, I am here not as a merchant.\"
Falathel keeps looking around, as if waiting for someone to enter the hall.. Nodding hello to Thregomir, he turns to Drenlyn and Morrandir and asks \"Have either of you seen Meneliel this day?\"
Turning to the approaching white figure Drenlyn smiles, \"Falathel, this is indeed a pleasant meeting. I hope that all is well, but I see that the Prince has yet to find time to squire you. You must press him harder or prove yourself more worthy it seems, but I do not doubt that you will soon earn the rank of squire.\"
Blinking at the new speaker Drenlyn laughs, \"And another good meeting, for we have not seen each other since the journey to Harad. But I regret to say that I did not catch your name at our last meeting, and shamefully request it again.\"
Drenlyn sends a questioning look at Falathel, eyeing him carefully, \"I regretfully have not Falathel, but I too have sought her for the last several days.\"
Wiping the saddened look off his face Drenlyn once again smiles and follows the merchant\'s son, \"Ah sir, you may not be a merchant, but I thought that you may know my father for he was a good captain, and was often employed by the merchants of Pelagir. But if you come not as a merchant to Dol Amroth, than what purpose do you have for gracing our fair city?\"
Sighs \"I believe I made her uncomfortable last night.\"
Thregomir stops, turning to the speaker. \"Sire, actually I am looking for Invriniel, the famous healer of Dol Amroth. But since she is not there, I thought I could visit the Halls, that were so common in my father\'s father\'s life. He described them to me, when I was a child, but this is... huge... \"
Morrandir looks at Falathel with an inquisitive look. \"Really? I do not recall anything discomforting you may have said,\" he says thoughtfully.
Falathel sighs again, looking up at Morrandir with a saddened look \"It was after you left us to each other, my friend.\"
Morrandir nods to Falathel. \"Dare I ask what may have troubled the young lady?\"
Thregomir whispers, as to himself \"...huge and beautiful....\"
Nodding to the merchant son\'s response, \"A noble purpose indeed drives you to the Master Healer then, but I regret to tell you that she is in Minas Tirith for now, but I have heard that she is returning, if she has not already done so. But I ask if you seek to learn the ways of healing for I too have an interest in them.\"
\"That is sad news Falathel, and all the more reason that she should be found to make amends.\" Still grining happily, \"But fear not squire to be, she shall be found, and I believe you will gain her favor once again.\"
Smiling Drenlyn addresses the squire, \"I now see why I did not recognize you at first dear Morrandir, for it seems that you have undergone many trials for which you had to give up your hair.\"
Falathel looks on to the ceiling not seeming to notice Morrandir\'s question..
Morrandir looks to Drenlyn and nods. \"Aye, most of it my friend. It scarcely reaches my shoulders when once it ran halfway down my back.\" he says coldly. \"However it was an unfitting look for a squire,\" he adds in a lighter tone.
Another wind blows in from the sea, whipping Falathel\'s hair about his face. He pulls out two small strings and ties his hair back in a long pony-tail which hands down to the bottom of his shoulder blades.
Thregomir says, \"Sire, you said, you were interested in the ways of healing, too? Pardon me. .... But as far as I can see you not wounded - is there anything I can do for you? ...Uhum.... I mean .... I have been with the healers of Pelargir for some time - and I have some herbs and bandages, too ...\"
Morrandir reaches up to run his fingers through his hair, revealing a nasty dark purple - almost black bruise upon the back of his hand. As though suddenly realising, he quickly tucks both hands behind his back and stares up at the magestic dome.
Drenlyn chuckles at the breaking speech of the healer, \"No, no good sir, I seek knowledge of the arts to benefit my fellows on the battlefield. I was just curious as to your desires, which are now all to well made clear.\" Smiling Drenlyn continues, \"I believe that we will meet in the Houses of Healing in the future, for our paths seemed to lead down similar roads.\"
Laughing Drenlyn looks at Morrandir, nodding approval, \"Long hair is indeed uncomely for a squire, but you shall enjoy the lack of weight before long, for the girls of Dol Amroth have been said to enjoy the shorter hair of squires.\" His laughter subsiding, \"But those marks dear squire should be addressed for they too are uncomely.\"
Turning to Falathel Drenlyn asks, \"I do wonder sir, what has caused you such concern. For when I saw Meneliel last, she seemed light of heart and willing to forgive some...uncomfortable remarks, especially from those who were close to her, you being one, or so I thought.\"
Falathel sighs \"It wasn\'t so much a remark as...\" at this he sighs again and become quiet again.
Cirthel appears form the archway to the east skipping playfully an rhythmical echo following behind her. She looks into the hall and stops when she notices others she is familiar with, stepping back cautiously and then walking softly through the doors she attempts to remain unnoticed.
Morrandir looks down at his hands, for they are both badly bruised. \"It is nothing, Drenlyn my friend.\" he says in a faltering voice.
Bowing low Drenlyn turns to each of the men and says, \"This was indeed a good meeting my friends, but,\" eyeing Falathel, Drenlyn continues, \"I feel that we must speak further of your worries with Meneliel Falathel. My duties call me now, but I will send word if I find the star gazer.\"
Turning once more to the healer Drenlyn smiles, \"I shall see you in the Houses healer, where we can discuss the arts.\" With that Drenlyn bows and departs, eyeing the entering maiden with curiosity.\"
Falathel sighs lightly and waves to Drenlyn..
Thregomir turning to the leaving squire, he says \"Sire... hum... sure, we\'ll meet ...\" But he seems to be ashamed now.
Thregomir pretends NOT having recognized the maiden, and nervously studies the dome again.
Cirthel slipping her hand behind her back and walking slowly looks as if she should do the innocent whistle, but she walks about the hall looking up a lot, and then over to the group of men casually, or trying to be so.
Falathel smiles at the young girl \"Hello Lady Cirthel.\"
Cirthel looks down quickly, perhaps too quickly, \"Why hello sir, fancy meeting you here, how are you today?\" she asks fixing her wandering eyes finally on Falathel.
Falathel snickers at the girl\'s odd behavior \"I am fine. And you?\"
Poor, poor Thregomir... his heart is racing and he slenders into the shadows near the walls - but keeping close to the group of knights - and the young girl.

Poor, poor Thregomir... his heart is racing and he slenders into the shadows near the walls - but keeping close to the group of knights - and the young girl.
Morrandir spares a quick glance at the pair, then wanders away from the group and stares up at the dome, singing softly to himself.
Cirthel frowns, sarcically sad, \"Aw, don\'t laugh at me,\" she says in a silly tone of voice, changing her face she looks to the quickly disappearing man she had seen not too long ago, \"Hello sir, Thregomir, I believe?\"
Thregomir steps out of the shadows in a sudden. \"Yes?\" he wants to say - but his voice is seems to be rusty now.
Thregomir whispers \"...hum... I mean ... Mylady?\"
