Dinnertime
A tale freshly told of the Breefolk
Keldean finds himself between a troll and a hard place.
[Ollie(#15066)] It\'s nice and dark here not only is it the middle of the night, but the trees grow overhead thickly and shut out any other light. Here and there, a tiny distant flicker might show where a star peeks through the swaying branches.
And a great thunder shakes the ground and rattles the trees together. After a minute, a giant shape bursts into view, pushing limbs aside with no thought to where they may go when he lets loose. Oliver is heading north, and at a fairly good clip.
[Luzgrak(#31883)]
The thunder masks other noises of the wood well, making it all the more easy for those that wish to remain unseen to do so. Perhaps it is fortune, however, that dictates that one which might wish such fails miserably, as it has picked far from the fullest of bushes to shield its presence. Indeed, the gleam of a pair of red eyes can be seen just to the side of the direction in which the large being heads, the silhouette of a much smaller creature visible against the storm. It does not move, but rather crouches low to the ground, gaze locked on the much larger figure-- and there Luzgrak waits, something resembling a low hiss escaping his lips, though barely noticeabale given the weather.
The large mass that crashes through the forest isn\'t alone, sort of. It could be a corpse that hangs halfway out of a sack tied at the troll\'s side, a limp arm dangling and a head lolling with the motions of Ollie\'s movement. There are slender fingers on the hand at the end of the arm and a tangled mess of curls on it\'s head. Alive or dead, the troll has a man he\'s toting along.
[Ollie(#15066)] Oliver isn\'t any too careful more\'s the pity. A treelimb snags on the sack, bends to nearly breaking (but doesn\'t) and lets go with a snarling ripping sound. The occupant of the sack tumbles out....
[Luzgrak(#31883)]
Perhaps sensing some opportunity, though for what is uncertain, the smaller creature leaves his \'cover\' near the bush and rushes forward, seeming to use all fours as he moves. Reaching his destination of the fallen captive, the orc comes to a sudden halt, leaning over to smell the possibly dead being hungrily. In his frenzy, a string of drool falls from his wretched fangs to the human\'s revealed skin, though there is little but more to follow as a nother fresh string begins to form in its stead. Glancing quickly over his shoulder, and seemingly suddenly remember the presence of the much larger troll, Luzgrak grabs the prisoner\'s arm and begins tugging it toward the bushes. His speed, however, is nothing overly amazing.
[Ollie(#15066)] The snapping branch barely details Oliver the loss of weight from Keldean\'s falling less still - but something... some sense that only the evil possess, perhaps (or only the greedy and hungry?) alerts him to danger! He slows, pivots (taking out several small trees) and heads backwards to find a thief! \"HEY!\" the troll bellows. \"THA\'S MINE!\"
The figure hits the ground, laying limply for a moment, then groans and twitches. When the drool hits his flesh, the young man\'s eyes snap open. It\'s dark, but the sudden rough hand grabbing and dragging him is so clearly not the troll\'s. Keldean struggles, trying to yank his arm away but he\'s weak at best after several days without food. \"Let go!\" He gasps, his eyes looking wildly between the new threat and Oliver. \"He\'ll kill us both!\"
[Luzgrak(#31883)] Looking to the troll, Luzgrak snarls angrily, \"Finders keepers, clumsy... mine now!\". And with that, the orc ignores the warning of the human, growling as he lowers his vile fangs and sinks them cruelly into the flesh of Keldean\'s arm. He begins gnawing away, almsot as if determined to escape with the arm if nothing else, though what progress he makes is near impossible to tell in the darkness. He continues to scramble backwards, even as he gnews, his red eyes locked on the approaching beast. Lifting his blood-filled mouth from the human\'s limb, he licks his lips, \"Back! Back! He mine!\" he then proceed to twist and yank upon the wounded arm, struggling in an attempt to free it from the rest of the load. His progress backward, of course, has stalled.
[Ollie(#15066)] This infuriates Oliver no end. He thunders forwards. \"Yer ruinin\' it! Yer \'asn\'t got no saahl\'s an\' no grey bits an\' nothing!\" One hand reaches for Keldean\'s ankle, and yanks. \"MINE!\"
Keldean is still struggling when the sharp teeth sink into his arm. The man, if only barely, howls loudly in pain. It\'s not much compared to the yelling of the troll, but far higher in pitch comparitively. As scrawny as he is, the blood is still hot. A bad situation has gotten drastically worse, and the human makes one more desperate attempt to try and save himself, \"Stop!! I can help you! Find.. find more people!\" Being wrestled, he\'s on the brink of unconsciousness.
[Ollie(#15066)] Oliver\'s grip slips. Poor troll. He is hanging on so tight and pulling so hard, that the loss of this small amount of stability sends him tumbling backwards into the night. He ends up on his back, tangled in trees and shrubs - not quite inextricably, but it will surely take him a little while to free himself. From his prone position comes a howl. \"MIIIIIINE!\" If the human finds more humans, they are all HIS!!!
[Luzgrak(#31883)]
Ignoring the words of the human, seeming much more interested in the troll and the threat he may pose-- even as the mighty creature falls, Luzgrak bends down and grabs the human around the torso. His escape is now much more fluid, and he slinks off into the bushes with relative easy, dragging Keldean roughly as he goes. With another growl, he shouts behind him, \"Stupid yous, mine!\"
Having disappeared into the bushes, the orc slows his pace a bit more, choosing to wrap his grotesque hands about the young man\'s throat, squeezing tightly, perverse joy in his eyes. \"Sleep now, dinner,\" he chuckles, \"I win. Me.\"
With his arm in a bleeding, twisted ruin now, much of the flailing from the skinny teen has ceased. As Luzgrak drags him along, Keldean moans in pain, his flesh white under the dirt and grime as more of his hot blood runs down his arm and drips from his fingertips. When the orc stops to finish the job, the young Breelander tries to plead again, \"Help.. I can show you wh-\" He\'s cut off by the strong hand wrapping around his throat, his words now choking, strangled sounds.
The youth reaches up with his still whole arm, his own fingers frantically grasping. They don\'t find purchase on the orc, but do wrap around the cord of a medallion that the boy was wearing. It pulls free from beneath his shirt, gold embellishment glimmering dimly in the faint light of the stars above.
[Luzgrak(#31883)] Seeming satisfied that he has escaped pursuit, and that his future victim is now unable to resist, Luzgrak takes a moment to glance around the area-- a final attempt to view any potential intruders such as himself. Glancing back to the unconscious form of Keldean, he smiles grimly, rubbing his hands together and truly savoring the moment. It is then that he catches a glimpse of the medallion and scoops it up quickly, bringing it close to his red eyes, which are rich with curiosity. Sneering, he tucks the ornament away in a pouch at his belt, and scoots closer to the human. Licking the tips of his fingers, each of which is adorned by a sharp claw, the creature leans forward and rips open the young man\'s shirt, revealing the torso beneath. With little regard for caution or prevision, he sets about attempting to trhust his fingers into the abdomen-- his teeth following closely behind as he sets about his meal.
The medallion is a small, thin clay piece with a yellow-green glaze. It\'s chased with a gold-colored metal, and it\'s attached to a leather cord. Keldean breaks it free, and looks like he\'s trying to wrap his fingers tightly around it, but a wave of white sparkles across his vision and it falls to the dirt as he passes out.
All is peaceful until sharp claws dig into his midsection, and that rips the young man back to wakefulness. He screams in agony, violently trying to kick and flail the orc away in a feeble attempt to prolong his suffering.
[Luzgrak(#31883)]
The creature smiles, blood fresh on his fangs as the man begins to flail helplessly, \"Yes, yes... me likes it when they fights it. Fight! Fight!\" His hands are still buried in the open wound, though he now positions the left back at Keldean\'s neck, pinning him down. Qith a simple thrust the right one disappears into the innards of the human. What he grips is unclear, but it is definitely not something meant to have been gripped, and he squeezes it tightly before ripping and pulling forth what can only be a stomach. Luzgrak sniffs it for a few moments, before shrugging and tossing it aside, \"No good, that.\" With a wretched chuckle, he glances up at the fading being and smiles, \"Night night, dinner\"
He then proceeds to bend down and tear flesh from the gaping abdomen of his prey, chewing sloppily as he swallows piece after piece nearly whole.
