Full Name: Curugil "the Crafty" Maethir Gildring, son of Curungol, Lord of the Gildring, Master of the High House of Lore
Title: Lord Gildring; Master of the House of High Lore; the Crafty
Culture: Dunadan Gondorian Species: Human
Sex: Male Birthday: 3010
IC Rumors: Curugil, while charming, has rough looks about him and he sometimes referred to as the 'Toad.' It is also sometimes thought that he is engaged in strange and lost arts and he is often thought mad.
IC Background: Born in 3010, Curugil, son of Curungol came from the high bloodlines of the Lords of the Gildring. Born in Lebennin, he proved skillful, like many of his kin, in hand and mind and would often be sent to Pelargir-Upon-Anduin for early tutelage. However, in 3018 his father, vying for the High Lordship of the House, retired to Minas Tirith with his family. There, Curugil learned much in the great city and was exposed to the lore of his fathers. He learned the histories and skills of old, often under the secret tutelage of others in his house, until he became knowledgeable in engineering, lore, but most significantly, alchemy and the sciences. Of course, during this dark time, he like many other men of Gondor learned to wield a blade, but he also learned to use a war hammer as well.
In 3028 he was wedded to Farawen Gildring, a very distant cousin. The marriage, produced seven children. However, by 3042 Farawen died.
In 3030, Curugil's father, Curungol, was elected Lord of the Gildring. With this new position, important tasks fell to his son, including the governorship of the Gildring fief. Curugil removed to the Dol Thaur to begin planning the resurrection of the family keep, but he was often called away to Minas Tirith for consultation, for even as a young man, his lore grew great.
However, in 3045, Curungol died of suspicious circumstances and Curugil found himself elected to the Lordship of the Gildring. Although the plans for Dol Thaur have been put on the wayside, Curugil has now found permanent abode in Minas Tirith. There he provides advice for the Lords of Gondor, but still conducts his studies in science and other lore.
