Description

The long slender face of Endaerion Cuthalion is a grim one out of circumstance, a thousand tales to be told from each line and crevice of his skin. Though bright sea-gray eyes suggest that this man be not completely without joy. Dark wavy hair sits upon his head in relative short length, somewhat parted at the middle and cast to either side. A slender, slightly aristocratic nose marks the center of his handsome face, and gives way to a clean upper lip devoid of anything more than a stubble at times. Full lips lie passive but hint at capacity for proud articulation and soft-spoken words. Tall in demeanor yet slender in frame, Endaerion is easily identified as a man of Ithilien with undoubtful roots tracing back to ancient Numenor.

Endaerion is adorned in a dark green laced up tunic with brownish, durable looking pants and some worn brown leather boots. The sleeves of the tunic cut off at around mid-upper arm and are embroidered with a silver-etched scroll pattern. Protruding from under this is a loose fitting cloth undergarment intended to keep the wearer warm during cold lonely nights in the forest. Around his waist is buckled a rather thick leather belt. Hung from this is a large leather pouch accompanied by a few smaller pouches, a sheathed hunting knife, and yet another sheath, black in color, which in it holds a longsword of Gondorian make. Over all this he wears weathered gray hooded-cloak which fits around him unhindering, yet conceals him well when the hood is drawn. A green quiver is strapped to the man's back by a shoulder slung strap full of green-fletched arrows, in addition to a tall oaken bow. Upon his hands are worn a pair of green leather gauntlets, the insignia of the Rangers of Ithilien.

History

The life of Endaerion is full of tragedy, the death of his family and closest friends leaving him a not only the last of his line, but also an emotionless island in a chilly sea. He holds few close to him, save for some of his kin and his Ranger brethren. The loss of his beloved Faidwen at her own hand and separation with his only son is said by many to have shed the last traces of his humanity.
