Person

Visual

Especially in Bree there are varying reports of Uannve's appearance, some going so far as saying she is dark, fell, and unsavory, and her eyes are those of a manslayer. Yet there are others who say that this is hear say and rumor generated by those that do not know her, and that only laughter and smiles are hers and likewise those of the children she cares for. Some say she cannot be their mother however, that she bears no resemblance to them and that it is some other predicament that has found her with children; even kidnapping is suggested.

There is dispute over Uannve's age as well, the suggestions being both that she is old and simply has no dignity to act it and that she is young but has seen more than her years should have allowed. What is agreed upon is that she is foreign to Bree, for her most distinct features, her eyes and her skin tone, are not of the local variety.

Background

Lead In

Depending on your character's place of origin, or place of information in seeking out information on Uannve (should you ICly ever have a wish to), the below are possible, but use appropriately:

Dunland Backstory

"The Black Womb" a few have said of the mother decades after her only successful pregnancy was no more than a memory.

On a day in a month years ago, screaming only then and seldom found to be a fuss again, Uannve was born to Oth and Frayda of Stag in the middle-far reaches of northern Laeg. It was then a calm and tranquil land where work was life but where a day's agenda was in all ways like a breeze--constant and within reason. Life to the Oth homestead and much of the surrounding region was a depressed one where clan politics were less frequent than the new moon and where the days were silent enough to "hear into the haze", as Frayda still remembers her lone child saying.

Childhood and youth for Uannve were for the most part quiet and tame, the kind of life that seldom resented being ruptured with her creativity, work and ever-present, animate delights; it was a life that was always waiting for her to disturb it, and patiently allowing her to hear the distant wild and the forlorn creatures of it. But at times the wilds often sounded too close, and to be honest, sometimes they were.

Frayda cares little to speak more of Uannve, for tears devour her words. She mentions occasionally that there was a man that once sought for Uannve after she went missing like her husband and she herself desired to, and that his name was Bosten, also a Stag and once a man of note among the Stag militia. There is always trouble in her eyes with his name.

The years always change, and with that change often comes sadness for some. Uannve has not returned and long by lack of word been presumed dead.

Bree Backstory

Few of Bree could really give facts about the woman some know as Uannve, and fewer still care to have them--gossip and rumors are far more appeasing for many folk. It is apparent, however, she was or is a traveler at the very least. By some she has been grouped in with those strange, dark-clad folk who wander the lands, and by these it is suggested the lengths of Eriador are her home.

She is known by less than a handful of traders as one to occasionally offer good prices on furs and other more rare and priceless commodities. Even by these though she is deemed unreliable, as they do not know where she spends most of her time or what affects her availability. Not even the Prancing Pony sees much of her.

Shepherding Village Backstory

Uannve was known and accepted by those of the Shepherding village as someone that shared a similar plight until the place's most recent abandonment. Her reticent behavior did not help her blend in but accommodated her fading away. By those that do manage to recall her look she is often remembered as the traveler, trapper, and trader she proved herself to be. Among these too though there are darker rumors and conflicting opinions.
