Background
Cirbandil was born on December 3rd, 3008 in Pelargir, to Celebond Mormegil Cuthalion, who was married to Annanim of the same house. Celebond was at the time the chief of the Lalorn Cuthalion. The family lived in Pelargir, but they also had a modest town house in Minas Tirith, where they had trading concerns.
Cirbandil was often overly cold with, associates of his father, and many times caused offense, but these were glossed over with favors Celebond did for those offended.
Cirbandil lived with his family, learning the family skills at trading, and advising and leading the Lalorn Cuthalions. At the age of twenty-three he joined the Company as a Scout. He was promoted three years later to the rank of Master Scout. During this time he became an advisor to the Lord Claimant to Cuthalion, speaking with the voice of his father while the Company was in Ithilien.
When the traitor Faragil built Minas Medui he was among the faithful of Ithilien, fighting against the Haradrim. On the return journey, Cirbandil received a letter, notifying him that his father had died on November 1st, 3037, and he became the chief of the Lalorn Cuthalion.

Blindness
The fire in the storehouses of Minas Tirith in May 3040 brought a great sickness upon Cirbandil, and the Chieftan of the Lalorn lost the use of his eyes. Lying in his bed, he made a decision. He summoned Mothnar, his cousin, and, in a ceremony witnessed by Saeltavor, bequeathed to Mothnar the title of Chieftan.
