Confrontation on Evidence
This is a log recorded on June 26th, 1997 by Ravenwyr and is yet another recorded portion in the \'Landromir Plot and the Court of Denethor\'. Here, a body has been found and brought to the Houses of Healing for examination. It is to this peaceful place others come, seeking the Commander Ravenwyr... and where much comes to light.
Ravenwyr is sitting in the hallway on a bench recently occupied by Charystra and Imrahil hours before. He is exhausted and slumped against the wall, asleep.
Imrahil enters and stops seeing the dark-skinned Ravenwyr, he looks over at Boromir.
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir comes in behind his Lord Boromir.
[(#15204>] Boromir appears on the heels of Imrahil, and as he spots the sleeping Ravenwyr, leans over to the man and speaks softly. \"... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...\"
(OOC) You say, \"He does not have his sword... btw. It\'s propped against the wall at the entrance to the Houses of Healing, of course.\"
[(#10108>] Imrahil nods and leans over and says, \"... ... ... with ... ... ...\"
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir comes forward and whispers something to Boromir.
Ithilir comes in from the courtyard, seeking the peace of this House.
Ithilir has arrived.
Ithilir is an IC Male Human Gondorian
Boromir nods to Imrahil, though he does not answer, and so he goes forward to Ravenwyr and lays a hand stiffly upon his shoulder. \"Wake now, Ravenwyr, for we would hear news of what you have found.\"
Imrahil crosses his arms and looks on Ravenwyr gently.
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir shows no emotion, rather he stiffens.
Grimaldi stands behind the noblemen, silently keeping watch over Boromir in case there is a need for his services.
Ravenwyr is startled at someone\'s touch and blinks, waking up, \"What?\" Seeing it is his Lord and Captain-General Boromir, Raven immeadiately stands, reflexively straightening his crumpled uniform, \"Sir. Morning.\" He glances at the others assembed and frowns, \"I assume you have all come to see the body? Master Healer Starmir and his aids are looking it over now.\"
Imrahil lays his hand for a moment on his hilt out of habit.
Boromir shakes his head, \"We have not come only to see the body, but to speak also with thee, though I will look upon this corpse ere I go. Nay, rather we would learn what news you have found. Have you not assumed chief role in the investigation, or have I been mislead?\"
Opening his mouth, Wyr hesitates, then shrugs, \"For the moment, aye, M\'Lord... as I was still at my Office and was the highest ranking officer on the scene... so I began to secure the area. At light we moved the body here after a thorough search for anything to be found.\" From his belt Ravenwyr removes a scrap of cloth and holds it out in offering to his Captain, \"This we believe is the murder weapon, Sir.\" It contains the oddly curved serpant knife handled with care so no to overly disturb any marks of blood.
Imrahil looks on the knife, \"That looks as if it were wrought by the Southrons.\"
Ravenwyr blinks, looking at it again but says nothing.
Boromir takes the weapon and looks upon it carefully, \"A strange blade the like of which I have seldom seen.\" Nodding to Imrahil, he adds, \"Yes, I would guess the make to be Southron in origin, but I have little skill in naming those weapons, for I see them only seldom.\" Looking again to Ravenwyr, he presses for more, \"Was aught else found upon the scene?\"
Ravenwyr nods, skimming a stub fingered hand through his silvering hair, \"Nay, M\'Lords... up until the time I departed for here. I left men to carry out orders and continue to scan the area for anything they could find in the greater light of day. I would not allow the body to be moved until light with fear that we might inadvertainly disturb something. I also had the Gates closed until light and everyone on the look for anyone the least suspicious.\" He sighs, fighting a headache, \"But at last word... there was none.\"
Ravenwyr gestures down the Hall to the secured room, \"It\'s a middle-aged man... citizen, in that room.\"
Boromir nods to Ravenwyr, \"Then you have done well. If haste was made, then mayhap the killer was unable to escape the city ere the gates were shut. Though if he made straight for the walls, he may very well be gone far from this place. That shall come to be seen ere long, I do not doubt.\" Turning to Landromir, he speaks, \"Landromir, come forth and tell Ravenwyr what you have found. No doubt it will be of interest to him.\"
Landromir steps forward and says, \"Yes.\" Landromir turns to Ravenwyr, \"Ere the body was disintterred I examined it, and found this.\"
Shifting his weight to ease his bed leg, Ravenwyr leans back slightly after a step to rest against the wall as he listens.
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir takes out a sapphire ring and holds it up, \"Do you know this?\"
Grimaldi shifts restlessly on his feet, his hand slips to the hilt of his blade as they come to the crux of the matter.
Boromir stands aside as Landromir speaks, and ever his eyes are upon Ravenwyr.
Imrahil lays his hand on the hilt of his sword which he did not check at the door.
Ennorath comes in from the courtyard, seeking the peace of this House.
Ennorath has arrived.
Ennorath is an IC Male Human Gondorian
Ravenwyr\'s eyes go wide, his voice rising, \"Where did you say you found that?!\" Ravenwyr moves away from the wall, suddenly stiff in posture and angry, \"That is mine... it had recently gone missing. It was given unto me by our late Lord Sema. It is a signet of his House.\"
Imrahil glances over at Ennorath, \"At last! Come forth Ennorath.\"
Boromir\'s eyes narrow slightly at these words and his face grows dark. But he does not speak as yet, and allows Landromir to continue with his discourse.
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir nods, \"It was found buried in the roadside.\" And also other things were found as well.\"
Ravenwyr barely contains his surprise and anger and stops himself from taking back the ring in Landromir\'s hand.
[Ennorath(#25529)] Approaching through the door, Ennorath bows to the Prince and stands... He speaks with haste \"My Prince..I received your message.\"
Imrahil interrupts and says, \"Here comes my servant who intervened in the assault.\" He turns to Ennorath, \"Pray, tell me Ennorath, what occurred in the fourth hour of that day?\"
Cocking his dark head and suddenly suspicious... Wyr pauses for a breath, listening as his eyes skim over each man, or Lord, pressant, \"Yes... go on.\"
Ennorath pauses and looks around at each and everyone here... he then says \"The good lady Selind was assaulted by an unknown Southron, my lord.\"
Imrahil rubs his chin and says, \"What makes you say it was a Southron?\"
Boromir speaks up, \"How is it known that the man...\" But he breaks off as Imrahil speaks before him, \"Yes, you ask what I would know. How then was it known?\"
Ravenwyr\'s black brows draw together. He slides a look at his Lord Boromir, his commanding officer, to see what that man\'s face indicates... as this is smelling fishier and fishier to him.
Ennorath says, \"He was swarthy looking... He could have very well been a Dunael or a man of the East.. He assauled the lady in the early morn near the Old Guesthouse. I chased him away and I noticed that he dropped a cane.\"
Ravenwyr speaks up, \"I am aware of the Lady Selind\'s case... and have been working on it, but I don\'t recall such mention in the files submitted to me.\" Wyr frowns.
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir now takes out from under his cloak the cane and sets it down.
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir drops Ravenwyr\'s Cane.
Boromir shakes his head, \"There are no Southrons within the walls of Minas Tirith, for they would not be admitted if known to be of that land.\"
Denethor comes in from the courtyard, seeking the peace of this House.
Denethor has arrived.
Denethor is an IC Male Human Dunadan Gondorian
Imrahil looks to Ravenwyr for a long moment, glancing at ever dark pores of his skin.
Ennorath says, \"He could have very well gotten through the city guards, Boromir.\"
Suddenly looking startled at what Ennorath says, Ravenwyr blinks and looks from man to man ever with a frown verging on a scowl. As Landromir draws out Raven\'s own cane, signifigant in it\'s raven\'s-head silver handle, Wyr looks distinctly pale and doesn\'t breath with his shock.
Grimaldi salutes the Steward as he enters the House of Healing. Then he resumes his position only this time situating himself closer to Ravenwyr.
Denethor comes into the Houses, followed by his ever-present enterage and looks around curiously at all the peopled gathered.
Ennorath just looked at you.
l
Houses of Healing - Entryway(#9671R)
As you walk in to the House of Healing it is suddenly apparant that there are no signs of warfare which is strange since the rest of the city is covered with armed men. Not only that, but the number of people moving around is greatly increased from that of the rest of the sixth tier. All of this helps to form the idea that you are truly in an island of peace in the midst of a war.
There is a sign on the wall to read.

This man stands around 5\'10\" in height and is lean of build with rather bronze swarthy skin and sharp features for a Gondorian. His eyes are slate grey with thick black hair combed back with his fingers to fall over his shoulders. Silver hair glints at his temples and above his right ear where a deep and puckered scar runs from his hairline to his chin. Another twists like a snake through his dark lips. His hands too are mauled with parts of several fingers missing or gone completely. You would be inclined to judge this man to be in his forties, perhaps.
He is clad in a crisp black and silver tabbard of the Minas Tirith Citadel Guard. The breast of the tabbard is the silver embroidared White Tree and Seven Stars crest of the City. On his right shoulder breast is the embroidered silver shield and black winged helm of the Fourth Company which he commands. A longsword hangs at his right hip but his usual cane is oddly lacking from his right hand. .
Ennorath kneels at the Steward\'s entry and lowers his head.
Imrahil turns to see the horde of lords entering and turns to the Steward and bows deeply.
Boromir laughs at Ennorath, \"And so could an orc pass under my very nose unscathed, and the sun may come before the moon and light the evening sky! Nay, I will place what faith as I hold in the men who guard the gates.\" And then he turns to regard his father, to whom he bows low with show of respect. \"My father, you have come in good time, for there are words to be said that you will wish to hear.\"
Denethor gives one brief nod in acknowledgement of all those who have showed thier rewpects to him.
[Ennorath(#25529)] At Boromir\'s words,Ennorath gives a glance to Imrahil.
Ravenwyr\'s heart beats painfully as his mind numbly tries to function. He looks at the cane, then to his Lord Steward who just now enters. Wyr looks startled and sweaty-pale. After a long, stiff moment, Raven too bows to Denethor.
Imrahil nods to Ennorath, \"It is well to speak your heart, but we are from far away and know little of the Men of this city save they are from Gondor - and that is enough.\"
Denethor scans those gathered about the room, his eyes coming to rest upon Ravenwyr at the last, \"What is it that involves one of my own men that ye have gathered to discuss?\"
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir stiffens and looks upon the Lord with almost a hint of awe.
Imrahil rises and awaits Boromir, of whose place it is to speak.
Ennorath clears is throat and then replies to Boromir, \"Begging your pardon, sire, but the day was bright and my age has not so affected my sight. The man was swarthy and oddly dressed. Unless you deem it to have been a disguise of a sort.\"
Boromir moves to stand at the fore of the group, pausing to nod to Ennorath in assent, then speaking aloud. \"Give me leave, father, and I will tell what must be said.\"
[Ennorath(#25529)] At Denethor\'s words, Ennorath is silent to listen.
Ravenwyr blinks again, thinking... where was he then? But Wyr says nothing to draw any more attention to himself than he has too... trying to fathom the why-for.
Denethor inclines his head and his body ever so slightly forward, yielding speach to his son, \"Enlighten me so that I may learn why those gathered here wear such grim masks.\"
Boromir speaks loudly now for all to hear, \"Grim are our faces, father, because ill news has been learned. A death there was in the city, murder it is said, for a man is dead by the blade of another. Upon the sight of this death, a knife was found, this blade.\" And he holds the serpent-shaped knife up for Denethor to see. \"It has been said that this be Southron craft, a style of forging unlike to our own, or I have never held steel.\" And he pauses for a moment ere continuing...
Ravenwyr licks his thin lips, his left hand lightly brushing the front of his uniform over his chest as he listens. He keeps looking at the cane and then finally to Landromir a long moment as he remembers something.
Denethor reaches out to take the knife from Boromir. He holds it out in front of himself, examining the weight and balance before drawing it in for closer inspection. He then holds it back out toward Boromir as he says, \"Tis indeed work of the fell Southrons, inferior to our own craft, but death to any whose flesh it would pass.\"
Boromir continues with his speech. \"Also found there was a sapphire ring hidden there in the dust of the road.\" He motions to Landromir now, as though urging him to show the ring. \"It has been told to us that this ring bears the signet of the House Isilrim, the House of the late Sirion the Younger of Dol Amroth, slain upon the fields of Lamedon. Three of these there were, given to friends of that House by Sirion. One to his widow, Charystra who resides within. Another to Hadrian, faithful squire. And another ... to Ravenwyr of Minas Tirith.\"
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir holds up to the ring for all to see.
Ravenwyr looks at the ring, his left hand reflexively going to the base of his throat... how it was removed... he can only guess.
Denethor looks over towards Ravenwyr, his gaze drifing down toward his hands, \"Would this be the same that would rest upon thy finger?\"
With a short nod to the negative, Wyr says, \"No, M\'Lord.\" Ravens\' voice is alittle tight, his breath short, \"I always wear it on a leather thong about my throat... only,\" his dark grey-ish eyes return the ring in question, \"Only this past week it went missing and I could not ... possibly fathom how. I never took it off.\" his voice grows faint at the last as he looks at it.
Ravenwyr adds as an after thought, \"It\'s not my right to wear it openly. It is not my House.\"
Boromir takes the knife from his father and tucks it into his belt, speaking further. \"And of other news, a woman was assualted within with the city, Selind by name. Saved from death by Ennorath, man of Dol Amroth,\" he motions to Ennorath, \"who has given a description of the man. A swarthing he was called, a Southron, dark-skinned and evil, though no Southrons may pass within the gates to this city. And there was recovered another thing, a thing that I, and you father, know well.\" And he motions Landromir to bring forth the cane of Ravenwyr.
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir now lays down on a table the cane.
At hearing that they already reccognize his cane as belonging to him without question, Ravenwyr\'s heart definately skips several beats painfully. He looks at the cane dumbly a long moment, trying to find his breath, very faint, \"But Landromir was with me in my office at that time... I was informed only later about the Lady\'s harm.\"
Denethor leans forward to lay his gaze upon the cane. Upon examining it momentarily he rlaxes and looks upon Boromir, \"This cane was discoverd upon the sight of one of these fell deeds?\"
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir shuffles a bit with his feet and looks the lords in front of him and with a nod to Boromir he says simply, \"The assault was at the Fourth Hour... and I was in the office at that time... with him.\"
Boromir\'s eyes grow dark as he looks to his father, and his words come now with a sense of urgency. \"Father, \'tis the cane of Ravenwyr, guard of the Citadel who stands now before us. And now let us look to him. What see we that is unlike ourselves? Upon the field of battle I would wager that here is a man of the South, an enemy of Gondor, though he wears the black and silver of Minas Tirith. A Southron was said to be the attacker, father, and the cane of Ravenwyr, who looks to be a Southron by my own eyes, was found there upon the scene.\"
[Ennorath(#25529)] Ennorath\'s gaze falls upon Ravenwyr... He takes a step forward ignoring others present staring intently....
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir now holds up his hand, \"Hold lords! I beseech you. This is not true proof and let us not condemn this one yet! For he has given much to Gondor, yea, even survived the Dark Tower itself.\"
Ravenwyr looks sharply at Boromir, his own commanding officer... a man he thought he could trust. He is accutely aware of the eyes on his darker skin... his sharper features and smaller stature than other men. Wyr thinks to stand firm with his head up and challenge in his eye but the shocks are too many. The man\'s left hand goes to his chest, his breath gone from him at the charge. The wall behind Wyr is about all the keeps him on his feet as he looks at Boromir and tries to find his tongue.
It might be noted that the man accused makes no denile of his Southron looks.
l ennorath
A dunedain of youthful vigour in mail hauberk covered with a tunic of blue stands with a stout ash spear in hand, and bears an anket at his side. Bearing the semblance of his ancient predecessors, Ennorath shames not their memory. A helm of ar-borang is set upon his head covering his short brown hair. Flying from his spear are the emblems of a silver lion upon a red and gold background. The same mark adorns his tunic. He stands tall and proud. Currently, he wears a long brown cloak that drapes from his shoulders concealing his sword and scabbard to some extent.
Ennorath stands back aghast... he looks to Denethor and says \"My lord, if I may add a word?\"
Grimaldi looks surpiseingly at Lanfromir after his comment. Confused by the sudden turn the man is taking who was the most strident accuser not 30 minutes ago.
Boromir slooks sharply to Landromir, \"Yes, survived even the Dark Tower! No doubt here was a mighty task where even the boldest would fail. None may pass the gates of that land and return, and yet he has done so. And recall how he came again to Gondor. Taken in battle, fighting with the Enemy against the men of Gondor!\"
Denethor\'s eyes drift down and to the side as a frown builds upon his grim facade. He walks forth and pulls the cane from atop the table and examines it more carefully. After turning it over and rolling it between his fingers he looks up, \"Tis indeed the cane of Ravenwyr, Citadel guard that I have personally chosen to fill those ranks. I cannot believe that he is aught but innocent, despite what is presented before me. I know what lies in a man\'s heart, what he has done in his life and what he is capable of. He is not surrounded by the dark cloak that once enshrouded him. Morehaps this is a deed of that darkness to strike down one that has been mighty enough to defy it.\"
Finally Ravenwyr finds his tongue, though thick, \"Gondor is my home... land of my father. I would do nothing to harm her...\" At Boromir\'s words concerning Barad-Dur, Wyr stops, silent and seeing little hope.
Boromir sighs now and rubs a hand over his brow, and he nods to Landromir, \"Aye .. aye, I will not make any accusation plain as yet, though my mind is nearly clear on this. Here is a man that I have long known to be bold and true, great heart and noble spirit, and so my mind is troubled. But the facts are made plain here and cannot be denied, and so my grief is all the much greater, though my resolve is not lessened. If more there is to learn, it will be found!\"
Ennorath says, \"I know not this man, Ravenwyr who stands accused. He seems of the same color as the Southron, yet a bit shorter than the man I saw.\"
Ennorath says, \"I do not think he was the one, although I am wary of his history with his escape from the Black lands.\" Ennorath straightens up after saying his piece.
Ravenwyr puts out a hand and sits down unasked on the bench, hand still to his heart with pain and shock. He whispers something faintly... \"Elbarad.\" He does not seem to think much of Ennorath\'s words, not knowing the man. Wyr looks from Boromir, Imrahil to his own Lord... Denethor, \"What are you going to do?\"
Imrahil says to Ennorath, \"Was not the man cloaked?\"
Boromir turns to his father, \"The night of the oath-saying returns to mind, father, when Ravenwyr knelt before you and swore fealty. Naught of intresest passed that night, save only a minor thing, which mayhap others did not hear. He named his father to be one Darbian of Ithilien... Ithilien? But that land is not inhabited by any in these dark days, and those that do roam those deadly woods be of Numenorean race, or bear blood that is strong. Yet how can one strong in the blood of Westernesse produce and heir with skin so swart and dark, as though from the Southlands?\"
Grimaldi clears his throat, \"I have a question for your liege man, Oh Prince if I may.\"
Ravenwyr listens to Boromir speak his mind... and of Darbian. Wyr opens his mouth to speak but hesitates, glancing at Denthor.
Ennorath turns to face Imrahil,\" Aye, he did, my lord. He wore a cowl which failed to fully cover his dark skin. Nor did it hide his height. The man I saw was a good half-foot taller.\"
Denethor tamps his rod of office upon the table before him, \"I will hear no more of the guilt of a man I have bestowed my faith upon.\" His gaze slowly drifts across those gathered to let his words settle upon them. \"I have no wish that he be accused further and to those ends it is my decree that the wrongfully accused shall not be alone of company until this matter is resolved.\" He looks over upon his son, \"There are things that you have yet to learn before I leave this world. Be safe in the fact that I tell thee that no false words have passed his mouth concerning his heritage.\"
Imrahil sighs and says, \"Lord Steward. I come not to accuse or to say such. But I fear that these are ill tidings indeed. Tis true, that by appearance this guard here does not look to be a man of Gondor, not even those of Lebennin who are of a different race. But if such claims to Ithilien are said, then that can only be an untruth.\"
Imrahil looks to Ennorath, \"But a cloak may hide many things.\"
Grimaldi raises his hand as if he were in school to recieve permission to speak.
Imrahil nods to Grimaldi.
Ennorath nods to his lords words.
Ravenwyr stands suddenly, angery at Imrahil, and with his anger a return of some of his strength, \"Darbian was my sire, Lord. If I must speak of it in detail, I shall, even if you think it would condemn me.\"
Grimaldi turns to Ennorath, \"When you interruted this cowled man did you not say that he fled from you? Did you give chase to the man?\"
Imrahil looks to Denethor, \"But yea, there is naught here that would give sure proof as to who did this deed. Indeed, even as Landromir of Anfalas said, Ravenwyr was with him in his chambers at that time.\"
Boromir\'s eyes narrow as he looks to his father, and at last he inclines his head, though he hides a black scowl of displeasure. \"At your leisure, father, I would learn more of what you say. But what has been said this day is clear enough in my mind, and I fear to let this man free to roam the city at whiles. My counsel is to have him detained until more of this matter is learned. If he name be found clean of any wrongdoing, he shall be released with apology from myself. But if what I fear is true, he must not be allow free to roam the city streets.\"
A chill as if a Wraith\'s own finger caressed his back, Wyr feels a cold seep down through his bones at the word of detainment by Boromir. For the first time Ravenwyr looks frightened.
You say, \"You aren\'t going to put me in a cell.\"
Imrahil looks to Ravenwyr and sets the eyes of Belfalas upon him - the sea grey eyes born from the waters and he indeed is tall. Thus he says, \"Even so, a man of Gondor is a man by heart, and not by skin. Though the remnent of Westernesse is dimmed it may be seen in some - maybe. If the eyes are there. But I condemn you not Ravenwyr, Darbian\'s son.\"
Ravenwyr\'s voice drops softly, \"Not again.\" He hears not the Prince\'s words but only looks upon Boromir.
Ennorath gives a stern look to Grimaldi... he then clears his throate to speak, \"The ladies welfare was the first concern of mine, good sir. After I found that she was well I was stopped by my Lord-Prince who was inquiring about the situation.\"
Boromir pays no heed to Ravenwyr\'s words, looking rather to his father as though awaiting answer.
Grimaldi presses on, \"But the man fled from you correct? I have spent much time with Ravenwyr in the training grounds. His wounds are severe enough that he cannot run without a limp. That cane he uses is not for show..... he truely needs it. Did you notice the man limping as he fled?\"
Hearing the Guardsman, Grimaldi, Ravenwyr looks at him and listens as though his life might depend on what that other says.
Denethor looks upon his son with a gleem and a smile, \"I shall tell you some of what I know. There is yet some secrets that I must even keep from you. You will learn of them in the proper time. I know your heart in this, son of my soul and my body, yet I will not see him imprissoned for deeds he is innocent of. A man to be with him at all times that you trust will suffice.\"
Ennorath says, \"Yes...The man fled with a slight wobble to his step, and he would not have gotten away that morning had not it been for the crowd on the streets.\"
Imrahil looks over at Ennorath for a long moment, \"Alas for these days.\"
Boromir nods though he is plainly not pleased. \"Then I name Landromir to be his keeper, for he is true of heart and will not sway from the path of wisdom.\"
Ravenwyr looks numbly at Ennorath.
Grimaldi\'s face turns grim at Ennorath\'s pronouncement. Nodding his head he retunrs to his place in the back round. He offers a quiet, \'Thank you.\"
You say, \"Wobble? I can\'t run at all. I\'ve half my right foot gone.\"
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir looks at Boromir for a moment and then Denethor and then bows, \"If this is your command dread sovereigns.\"
Denethor says, \"It is my wish.\"
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir nods, \"I shall stay with him as if a brother, or better - a twin.\"
Ravenwyr looks to Denethor and inclines his head, still way off his balance by all of this. He looks long at his Lord, \"Thank you.\" Raven does not even know if Denthor knows about his fear of the ground... of cells and small places. He looks at his Steward, then to Landromir.
Boromir nods at this, eyes ablaze with a fierce storm, \"Then let it be so. Landromir is now appointed keeper of Ravenwyr, and shall remain so until his name may be wiped clean of any wrongdoing, or proven evil in nature and punished accordingly. So it is done.\" And so he turns about on his heels and strides quickly from the room, bowing only to his father, and is gone in a silent rage.
Boromir walks out of the houses onto the street.
Boromir has left.
[Imrahil(#10108)] Landromir nods at Ravenwyr, \"Have no fear friend. I am certain that if the Steward gives you such honour, then you shall be redeemed.\"
Ravenwyr opens his mouth to speak, then looks back to Denethor with a gesture to his blade leaning against the wall at the entrance to the Houses, \"My blade is there if you shall have it, M\'Lord.\" He glances to his cane upon the table, \"But I\'d have my cane if you will allow me.\"
Denethor motions to one of his guards to have them take up the weapon, \"I would hope you shall receive this back unto your hands again soon. You may have your cane.\"
Denethor picks up a Longsword.
With a nod, Ravenwyr steps over carefully and takes back his cane, running a dark hand over the black wood. He says nothing but waits for the others to say anymore before leaving.
Ravenwyr mumbles, \"If you will excuse me...\" Wyr\'s voice is faint, tight, \"I think I need a stiff drink and a seat.\"
Denethor turns away from the room and continues on into the Houses, resuming his business that brought him forth.
Denethor goes Out Of Character.
Grimaldi moves forward and says softly to Wyr, \"Do not think all are against you sir. I spoke for you in the council chamber when these charges were first brought forward. You\'re fellow soldiers trust you and know your worth.\"
Ravenwyr watches the others leave... to Grimaldi, Wyr looks, \"I know... and I won\'t forget. Thank you.\" then leaves as well, heading for his home... Landromir a forgotten shadow behind him.
