Sarn Goriwing: The Under Level

Darkness and dankness envelops this room, only by feel can you make anything out. The stone walls are smooth all around, but slick with cold moisture, as is the floor. The moisture reminds you what fell river this fortress stands within, as only moments within the under level are enough to dull the mind and deaden the senses. On the walls you can make out by feel the different textures of the stone, shackles and various other implements of binding, strong and regularly oiled but still rusting. On the floor here there seem to be a few small iron cages, not large enough to hold something as large as a man... yet the remains of what must have been something at least that large are visible in one nearby.

The south wall has been excavated to open into a complex of unfinished tunnels beneath the tower. Tools and other digging implements, most rusty and broken, litter the ground all around these, abandoned by their former owners.

[Cass(#28678)] There is a prisoner or two hidden here in the cellar or dungeon if you would. The scent of mold and cold seem always present here. A female Orc with skin that is black as night slips down the stairs. On her back, she is carrying basket like pack. That contains a knife and a few other implements used to for gathering of blood. Her eyes glitter with anticipation despite her slow careful movement. She rolls her shoulders easing the weight of pack as the straps dig deeply into her flesh. Her foot steps are almost silent as she moves past the guards. Her eyes are downcast and continues to move forward. The sound of the river seems to drown out most other sounds.

[Bagurat(#24847)]

Clank. Clack. Clank. There is the sound of metal hitting metal, though judging by the soft and distant quality of the noise, it is not coming from the dungeons.

At length the source of the disturbance can be discovered, and a dark robed form sweeps down the steps like a shadow, the chain belt wrapped about her waist hitting the stone with each step. Once at the bottom, Bagurat pauses, turning a crow-masked face to rove the dank and dreary chamber with a yellow gaze.

[Cass(#28678)] There is a moment of pause as the other Orc woman hears the noise and sees the other one making her way down the stairs. The crow like beak mask concealing the other females face causes her heart beats hard in her chest and she finds herself looking down at the worn stone floor. \"I am here for bit of gathering. Lichen and blood.\" She says hastily as she explains why she is here.

[Bagurat(#24847)]

Those yellow lights from within the eyeholes of the mask flicker to rest upon the other she-orc as she speaks, and for a moment the shaman is silent. Head tilting a little, Bagurat\'s voice emerges, muffled from behind the metallic beak. \"Lichen and blood you say? Surely not for food.\" There is the sound of a soft snort. \"They sound more like the ingredients for a potion.\" The robed figure takes a set of steps further into the room, and her gaze is briefly directed to the shackles and cages that are scattered about the vacinity.

[Cass(#28678)] \"Yes, everything has it purpose.\" Cass still will not raise her eyes to look at the other female. \"It is not for ingestion, it is for the other. All is will work. Need to make the poison more slow acting. First batch works quickly, the other work quickly as well, but this one needs to be slow acting. So that it causes pain and leaves dead after a time.\" Her left toe wiggles as she starts to trace circles in the dust with it. \"No offense met.\" She adds quickly as she realizes she is speaking too boldly.

[Bagurat(#24847)]

The apology is dismissed with the lazy wave of a long-sleeved arm, and the eyes that return to focus on Cass are lit with interest. \"Are you a poison brewer, then? I hope you plan to put it to good use,\" the Malkog\'s hidden mouth twists into an unpleasant grin. \"A deadly potion would have great potential, if used against the accursed light-lovers...\"

[Cass(#28678)] \"Indeed I am, I am trying figure out how to harm them. Such as they are humans fall easily but the pointy leaf ears do not. But I still think perhaps if I adds a few other ingredients I can work it to my advantage Shaman.\" It occurs to Cass where she has heard the voice before as she stood in the rank and file waiting for orders. \"The moon is not their friend as they would think but where there is no moon they will not see what covers our weapons.\"

[Bagurat(#24847)]

The crow-mask dips in a nod. \"Their wretched eyes are bright and ever-watchful,\" agrees the shaman. \"But perhaps here in the forest, under the darkness of the Master, their sight shall fail them.\" A spidery-fingered hand taps thoughtfully upon the hilt of a scimitar that sits at Bagurat\'s side. \"I want you to bring a sample of the potion to me, once it is finished.\" With her other claw, the she-orc gestures to one of the wicked cages lying on the floor, and she gives a crooning laugh of malice. \"I\'m certain we could find a...volunteer to test its effectiveness.\"

[Cass(#28678)] \"That I can do, and I will bring others samples as for you. For I have many kinds. They do many things. Each one has its own beauty like shadows that are cast in the twilight.\" Cass\' lips pull back into a smile showing her yellowed broken teeth. \"Volunteers are always needed, I will take those that are offered and our master allows.\" She looks up and her golden yellow eyes are shining brightly with joy as at the thought of her lovely potions being put to good use.

[Bagurat(#24847)]

\"So shall it be,\" comes another laugh, this one of satisfaction, and the yellow gaze in the mask has grown approving. \"Perhaps when you are ready, I shall meet you here, and will bring a lucky snaga or two for your experiments.\"

And then, the shaman begins to turn away, aiming her feet in the direction of the staircase once more. \"I will look forward to it. Until then, may the Eye look with favor upon you, and bless your work, if He be willing.\"
