Description
Tall and broad, here is one of the descendants of ancient Numenor. Yet for all that the blood is muted by the passage of a tumultuous Age of Men. He is masterful of bearing, with hair the color of the starless night and eyes the color of the early morning sea. His face is fair and there is an air of wisdom about him; wisdom of lore along with wisdom of warfare.
His silken mantle is untouched azure, falling from his slender neck down to his waist that is girt with a belt of tooled leather. Grey is the cloak, like the mist that rises from sea ere the sun has angled too high over the eastern horizon. Golden trim is at the edge of this great cloak, which itself falls from neck to heel -- and it is clasped at the throat by a silver star brooch. Black and supple are the boots and the breeches that adorn his legs, both wrought with both form and function considered with equanimity.
His age is unguessable. There is no wrinkle pressed in by time, nor is the brightness of youth yet still upon his smooth cheeks. But that is no surprise for he is of the Dunedain, the Heirs of the World, the doughty Men of Westernesse. These people have seen great travail and turmoil -- yet their stock is still pure and fair; and for that this descendent of them is both noble and fell.
Background
Born the son of Siriel Isilrim and Tuion Cirdain, he was abandoned by his father at birth and would not meet with him until many years later. He was fostered by his cousin the Lord Arnafel Isilrim until he was squired by Thorondur Girithlin at the age of 18. It was then he met his boon-companion Arelion Girithlin. The knight and two squires undertook many adventures together ere Belegorm and Arelion were knighted and given the twin blades reforged from the Sword of Anarion recoved during the Quest of the Sword.
Belegorm was always known as a cold, dour lad--a mystical Isilrim to the core. During the Curse of the Gemstones, during which Belegorm and many ladies of the Amroth court were nearly driven mad by ancient eldritch magic, he made a name for himself by singlehandedly defeating the curse and locking the cursed stones away for all time. It was there his name 'of the Gemstones' was derived.
He was named Knight-Captain of Dol Amroth at the tender age of 20, this occurring not half a year after he received his spurs. He served for many years in this capacity until he stepped down to retire and start a family with his wife Celebrethil. She gave him two strong sons, Arnafel II and Arelion Isilrim (who are now grown and great knights in their own right).
He does not often come to Gondor proper, preferring to stay in the Tower of Isilrim with his books. But he is still known as a great captain of men and there is no question he will be called upon to lead in the dark times that lie ahead...
