Calarion Bragollach is a young Squire from Dol Amroth. He tends to be cheerful, yet he has a somewhat quick temper which can be expected from his lineage. He is fiercly academic and has a burning interest in the topics of history and heraldry, often to a fault as he sometimes neglects his own duties to pursue his personal studies. Past actions have shown that the Blue Squire has strong moral values and has earned the trust of many. He holds vehemently to the Code of the Order and is fiercely loyal to his friends, family, and nation. It can be guessed that these values lie at the core of Calarion's wish to be a Swan Knight. Calarion has also been gifted with a great many experiences in the field. He rarely returns to the Prince's city and has often been seen travelling with the bands of knights stationed in Minas Tirith. Yet, the Squire found himself deprived when a fever kept him from participating in the Battle of Caldur, something he greatly regrets. Driven by this regret and a slight sense of guilt for not being able to assist his companions in the conflict, he has made it his self-appointed mission to help raise the Order and his own house, House Bragollach, from the fall from grace has experienced as of late. Some even whisper that he aspires to high ranks in the house lordship, maybe even the title of Lord Bragollach itself.

Description

The young man before you is tall, a man of noble blood. His raven hair falls to about shoulder length, worn so that it falls free, though not in his face.

And his face, it is of a pale complexion, as the rest of his skin, thin, and chiseled. Below his thin lips rests his jaw, slight and pointed; much like his nose which is long and thin. Peering out from all this are two grey eyes. They are inquisitive and compassionate, though they bear a heavy sternness as if they conceal some dark secret or weighty knowledge. And despite the playful twinkle, the seem rather somber.

His clothing is rather unremarkable as for that of a Squire of Dol Amroth. Over fine silver mail, primarily ceremonial in purpose, he wears a deep blue tunic upon which is borne the Swan of Dol Amroth, embroidered in silver thread. It falls to his waist where his trousers begin, they are of navy cloth and fall loosely to his boots of shining black leather, though they, despite their polishing, show the wear of use. Binding these pants is a belt of black leather, bound by a plain silver buckle. Covering all of this is a great cloak of grey wool, bound at his neck by a ruby buckle, possibly in reference to his Bragollach roots. Protruding from the woolen folds is the hilt of a sword. It is bound in black leather save a shining silver pommel formed in a sort of rounded arc reminiscent of a great tree. It appears to be fairly old and one can guess it is more than likely a family heirloom.

History

Calarion Bragollach was born to the Swan-Knight Aglaring Bragollach and a scholar by the name of Aldara Girithlin. The boy received the best of both of his parent's worlds. His father ensured he received strict discipline and an excellent martial education. His mother instilled in him a great love of learning, especially that of heraldry and history. As Calarion grew older, he found these two separate disciplines grow close together. Going to the tourneys so common in the area, he marveled not only at the skill of the knights but also the stunning array of heraldic devices. These experiences inspired Calarion to dream of entering the Order himself.

At age 17, Calarion entered the Order of the Swan-Knights as a Page, soon being promoted to White Squire. After a long period of intensive training in this stage of knightly formation, Calarion has finally been permitted to ascend to the final level of his training, that of Blue Squire, by Sir Menelglir Telpekhor, an old friend and former fellow squire of Calarion's.
