Title:

a Lady of House Girion, Senior of the Guild of Craftsmen.

Description:

This is a woman whose presence lies more in the proud set of her features than in her stature, slight and slender. Her eyes are a deep hazel flecked with burnished gold, and they bear a thoughtful intensity in their depths that is belied by the youth that is plain upon her face. Dark, willowy lashes are stark against her fair skin, which is rosiest where the sunlight has touched most upon her cheeks, and ever-so-slightly freckled across the bridge of her delicate nose. Deep earthen brown hair tumbles nearly to the young woman's waist, bound in a loose plait that is escaped by the few soft wisps that frame her face.

Her gown is a pale ivory, and is clasped close to her slender figure by a sash embroidered in dusky blues and silvers. No jewelry does she wear apart from the delicate pin at her throat that holds a cloak of weathered blue about her shoulders - it is wrought into a sigil of the Taurdain family, and inlaid with a solitary, luminescent pearl. Feet slippered in soft grey leather peek out from beneath the hem of her raiment only fleetingly when she walks.

History

Corawyn was born in the first days of what would grow to be a long and prosperous autumn in Barding lands. Her father was Deorick, a younger brother to Lord Kemble Taurdain, who had chosen in these years to live apart from the matters of his noble house to woo and wed a carpenter's daughter. Though Selyne's family was of Lake-town as well, the pair sought a quieter life in their early days of marriage, and together brought the craft skill of Esgaroth to the beach town of North Port in the establishing of a small but well-famed shipyard.

It was not until the birth of their first and only child that they returned to their families in the south, and to their lives as a Lord and Lady of Taurdain. But even then, the pair kept their love of shipwrighting close to their hearts, and so the little Lady Corawyn grew up with the sights and sounds of the docks, and the frequent delights of sails along the forest river to Celebannon. And when her parents were kept busy in lending their voices to Lord Kemble's council, Corawyn leant her laughter at play with her many young cousins.

But so too was Corawyn brought to know sadness, well before she was old enough to understand its import. The girl had not yet seen her fifth birthday when both Deorick and Selyne succumbed to a terrible sickness that swept Lake-town like wildfire, without regard for birth or station. Fortunately, Corawyn herself recovered her health very quickly, and was taken under the wing of Lord Taurdain himself.

Lord Kemble proved a kindly patron for his young niece, raising her to be more proper a lady even than she would have been with her free-spirited parents, some have speculated. Today Corawyn oversees much of the inner workings of the Crafts Guild for its master, and ably so for a young woman of near-twenty. Even so, for all her pedigree and proven skill, the precocious young Lady is often thought naive for youth and spirit, and surely in no small part for the heart she wears so plainly on her sleeve.

(Update: Corawyn is now wed to Lord Lorthrain of Girion and hence is part of that House)
