January 2013

  • 1st --- A visitor from the Mountain: Bernar greets Bardur son of Mardur at the Docks.
  • 5th --- Crib notes?: Ban's in need of a crib, but Brev is somewhat reluctant to release his handiwork.
  • 6th --- A flying visit: Between Galadhrim elves and Giant Eagles Isobel Taurdain is having an interesting morning.
  • 6th --- Measuring words: An Elven visitor to town converses with a local carpenter.
  • 15th --- The importance of Beo-ing earnest: Does Isobel really read Beomia's 'On Duties And Obligations' for pleasure? And what's on Oriana's mind?
  • 20th --- Talking in whispers: The library is the setting for an impromptu business meeting. Why so hush-hush?
  • 20th --- Lord and Lad: Bernar summons Lord Gerik of the King's Men to test Bernar's squire Tristan in one-on-one combat.
  • 18th --- Parental permission: Brev manages to confound Lord Braedon. What price for peace and quiet in the Taurdain household?
  • 22nd --- Strange bedfellows: Bernar has guests: Thurstan and Naverine Arathmor, bearing a proposal.
  • 22nd --- A waning strength: Barlin tells his nephew Bernar of the depletion of the King's Men's strength, and warns against politics.
  • 23rd --- Aebbe's Intervention: In which Aebbe expresses concern to Bernar for "the delicate flower" Oriana's drinking problem.
  • 23rd --- The rite of bearing arms: Riordan Karath finally introduces his son Riolan to Lord Bernar... but the young man isn't keen on weapons training.
  • 24th --- Connections: Ban needs something from Saereda, and gets something from Linnea. It's all about who you know in the Fishtale.
  • 26th --- Emulation: Louse imitates Bernar and Gerik's swordplay by lantern-light in the Training Yard.
  • 27th --- The biter bit?: Delling's arrows of mockery misfire when he chooses the wrong target and finds his listeners united against him.
  • 29th --- A shocking suggestion: Louse cadges a free meal and manages to shock Isobel Taurdain, all in one sitting.

February 2013

  • 3rd --- [Where the wolf howls, the orc prowls]: Lord Bernar, Lieutenant Hrodwyn of the King's Men, and Captain Celys of the Esgaroth Watch are surprised to find orcs and wargs in the woods west of Iach Celduin.
  • 4th --- [Look out below!]: Ban and his baby son Gwayne get in the way of Louse's 'sledding,' but instead of an earful, she gets her cloak mended.
  • 5th --- [Of Healers and Medicine]: Brev and a company of healers arrive at Iach Celduin, met by Lord Bernar of House Karath.
  • 8th --- Cracked!: Louse causes chaos in the Crafts Guild.
  • 10th --- [Battle of Five Armies?]: Well, more of a minor skirmish really ... Dale's armsmen encounter a rabble of Isendrim and Mordain orcs preparing to attack a caravan of Erebor and Luin dwarves: battle is joined!
  • 10th --- Jarred: Bernar arrives back at Iach Celduin with "gifts" from the orcs: broken ribs, broken nose, a cut, a concussion, and an arrow in his thigh. Celys sees to him with careful words and careful hands.
  • 12th --- [Smoke on the water ...]: A night patrol comes across an odd smell and an even odder creature skulking around the riverbank.
  • 19th --- Fighting fit ?: Gerik and Bernar seek leave to return to duty; Wray clearly has other concerns.
  • 20th --- [Dwarves and Dale-landers strike back!]: Dwarves and Dale-landers, returning from a patrol, emerge victorious from their encounter with a contingent of orcs reinforced by a troll.
  • 21st --- [Exchange of news]: Warden and Dwarven Skald exchange news on the site of a recent skirmish (in which Lt Hrodwyn turned the tide in the Free Peoples' favour).
  • 27th --- [Bonfire night]: An orcish bonfire draws Barding and Dwarven attention.

March 2013

  • 3rd --- [It ends in flames]: Shavyak is dragged back into the orcish camp with Bardings and Dwarves hot on his trail. Battle ensues as Hrodwyn and the King's Men tackle orcs, wargs and even a troll!
  • 4th --- Better out than in!: Hrodwyn gets the gentle treatment, whilst an arrow-pierced Neleth endures Brev's more brutal techniques.
  • 7th --- Market Value: Caure ponders selling trends, Isobel ponders Caure's unusual request and Louse is just out for anything she can get.
  • 9th --- [Of beards and blades]: Man and Dwarf exchange a few words by the Lake shore in the quiet of the evening.
  • 10th --- A homecoming: Some of those involved in recent events in Iach Celduin return to Esgaroth.
  • 12th --- [A name of fame!]: A chance meeting in the Armour Shop leads to Hrodwyn's name becoming better known than she might like ...
  • 14th --- Private researches: Caure seeks Isobel in the library but his hopes for privacy are rudely dashed by the arrival of an interloper.
  • 17th --- [Heroes of song!]: The Dwarven Skald Bardur premieres his new work in the Fiery Flagon, causing startlement on more than one count.
  • 20th --- More recruits than you can shake a stick at!: Riordan's looking for potential Wardens. Sigurd demonstrates his prowess with a staff; will Louse be so lucky?
  • 21st --- Not drowning but fishing!: Rheda and Riolan come across a couple of youngsters poking around in the Market Pool. Louse gets a wetting.
  • 25th --- Trouble in House Taurdain: In the hour past midnight, a fight breaks out between two manservants. Isobel and Brev try to get to the bottom of things.
  • 29th --- A question of loyalties: Lorthrain wants to know where Louse's loyalties lie, and why.

April 2013

  • 2nd --- Mistaken intents: While Barlin and Isobel converse, Gidon is mistaken for a thief. Brev smooths things over and invites the Karath lord to share his hospitality, but another draws Barlin away.
  • 7th --- Drowned sorrows: Loren introduces Brev to a Laketown tradition, while Gerik offers moral support.
  • 8th --- A wedding celebration: Isobel Taurdain's wedding reception is attended by all and sundry, though some are happier to be here than others ...
  • 10th --- (Un)suitable gifts: Brev and Isobel visit Lady Ailith Girion with presents for her baby daughter and receive a gift in return that is perhaps not appreciated equally by both members of the couple.
  • 16th --- Drop of a hat: Louse claims she's 'watching' the Wharf. Sergeant Loren watches her watching ...

May 2013


June 2013

  • 2nd --- Interloper at the feast: A banquet at the Elven embassy is interrupted by a rather unusual visitor.
  • 10th --- Away in a manger: It's cold outside and the Stables are warm: Haruven rouses Brev from a sleep he didn't mean to take.
  • 11th --- [Bridging the divide]: Representatives of three races meet on Esgaroth's bridge.
  • 13th --- Borrowing From the Bank?: Prince Bard and the Steward have a late night chat with three of the famous House Karath, regarding possible bank loans, and more.
  • 17th --- Silky words: The elven diplomat Haruven and Lady Isobel of Taurdain talk shop behind closed doors.
  • 23rd --- A rooster revisited: Two Elves are somewhat taken aback by the Laketowners' taste in sculpture.
  • 30th --- [Pipped at the post]: A visiting Dwarf's wish for an apple is in vain.

July 2013

  • 2nd --- Bursting at the seams?: Louse's excess energy brings her into conflict with Isobel; seamstress Morgaine finds her services much in demand.
  • 28th --- The Cure for All Ills: Louse shares some unexpected words of wisdom with Gidon and Haruven.

August 2013

  • 11th --- Shedding some light on things: Louse and Sian attempt to relight a lantern.
  • 22nd --- Taurdain homecoming: Who's that stranger with a beard? Perhaps not so strange ...
  • 26th --- Old friends and new: Darik of Taurdain entertains in the Market Square.
  • 28th --- Opportunity knocks?: The Rooster sculpture is the setting for a meeting between the Steward of a military house and a self-confessed military man of another - and Louse is offered a new vocation.

October 2013

  • 1st --- Sacked!: Louse's mouth lands her in trouble when she says more than she ought in Lady Oriana's presence.
  • 6th --- A lesson in life: Loren proves he's not just a pretty moustache when he passes on a few tips in dagger use.
