With the warmer evenings, you often see quite a crowd outside the Flagon. Needless to say, the odd quarrel breaks out. Usually it's two young bucks, though, while the other night ... That girl LOUSE was hanging around, picking up food that'd been left on unattended plates. Lady ISOBEL noticed and made a beeline for her -but not too reproach her for stealing, no. Rather she wanted to know what Louse had been doing with herself and why she'd not been visiting Taurdain Suites. I didn't hear what the girl said in response, but next thing the pair of them were at it like squabbling pigeons! Accusations of slavery and comments about an 'ungrateful wretch' (no prizes for guessing who that was!) mingled with talk of pigs and butchery. Louse stormed off in high dudgeon as Isobel retreated indoors. I'll wager there'll be a few regrets come morning. Why would Louse bite the hand that feeds her? Has she found a better source of income? And does Lady Isobel really have a tongue like a fishwife? I'd speak to one or other of them and find out.

That young boatbuilder RIOLAN came by Taurdain Suites the other day asking after BREV. What exactly he wanted I don't know, for Brev caught up with him on the doorstep and they traipsed off together, talking as they went and keeping their voices down low, more's the pity. I did hear Riolan say something about needing advice, but he denied it was a business matter. Wonder what that young Karath buck's gone and done now! Something that would rile his Da? I'd swear Brev looked distinctly uncomfortable ...
