Indilzar as a Young Man -- painted circa 3000

Born in 2985 alongside his twin sister Gweneth, Indilzar Elros Bragollach II entered the world the child and heir of Indilkhor V, Lord of the Bragollach. His mother was of a distant line of the house and her name was Gweniel. He grew up in his father's estates in Belfalas along the sea, but even at a young age he was well travelled throughout Gondor. When he was eight years of age, he was sent by his father to Edhellond, where he was schooled in the arts of lore, language and warfare. He also learned at this time such noble practices that the lords of Gondor took pleasure in, be it hunting, writing and art. At the age of fourteen he formally became the squire of his father and he rode with him to the First of the Haradraic Wars.

Upon his fifth and twentieth birthday, he received the knighthood and was commissioned under the Prince Adrahil. His early career is no great tale, and he was ever forward in battle trying to prove the valour of his house. In 3013, Indilkhor died and Indilzar became the Lord Bragollach, Master of the Sudden Flame of Gondor. The first time Indilzar was noted in the Annals of Gondor was during the Fourth Haradraic War where he became one of the Captains of Gondor in the failed assault upon Umbar. It was at this time that he swore an oath to raze the city of Umbar to the ground, or to die trying. Evidentally Indilzar must mean to assault the city again to fulfil this oath. Yet his dark mood was consuming and he was known after this time as the Black Knight of Belfalas. Indeed, it was in this mood that Indilzar took part in the quest for the Reputed Dragon-Helm of Hador.

After the Fourth Haradraic War, Indilzar was named the Fleet Captain of Gondor by the Lords of Belfalas and Lebennin. However, his tenure there was short-lived. This was because it was seen that Indilzar was prone to black moods and at times became fey. It was during this time that for a time he laid down his lordship and journied alone throughout Middle Earth with his faithful friend, Huan the hound. Often they can still be seen together and Indilzar believes that the hound knows the speech of Men.

Upon his return, Indilzar did not immediately assumed the mantle of his lordship but fought for Denethor upon the eastern marches. There he won reknown and great praise and proved to be a fell Captain of Men even more so from the days of the Haradraic War. It was also during this time that he wed Meneliel the Fair who bore him a daughter, Gweniel. However, the lordship of his house could be contested, for he also bore a bastard son, Abarzan, who was more often named Beldor.

After serving in the East for well over a year, he returned once more to Dol Amroth. It was then that Indilzar became one of the leaders of the fabled quest of the Sword of Anarion: Anaril. Upon his return and the completion of the quest, he was named Knight-Marshall of Dol Amroth. He served in the capacity of the Prince's right-hand man for many years until he was summoned by the Steward of Gondor who sent him on a secret mission far away. It was then at least fifteen years before Indilzar son of Indilkhor was seen again in Gondor. Then, upon a time, a man in black was caught by the Rangers of Ithilien upon the east marches. It was Indilzar himself, and he said that he had returned to Gondor, his mission complete. He shortly after retired to his estate in Linhir, but not before lending his support to the lordship of his kinsman, Bor.
