Magnus
Title:
a Royal Warden; Sentry of the North
Description:
The figure before you is a man of the wilderness rather than the urban world or courts of nobility. Indicative of this are the leaves and other bits of debris commonly seen scattered throughout the light brown hair which messily covers the man's head. The energy of youth is held within this man's deep blue eyes but a long scar crossing one of his cheeks marks him as no stranger to violence.
As a man of the wild, his attire changes to best allow him to blend in with his environment. Cloaks, tunics and pants of grey are thus worn when traversing the mountainous landscapes of the north but are replaced by dark greens when his business takes him to more vegetative locations and so on. Regardless of the colour however, the leaf-shaped silver broach set with an amber heart which clasps his cloaks together at the neck remains the same. A simple belt holds up his trousers, on a rather tight setting as a result of the thin frame symptomatic of his lifestyle.
Looming above most enemies at a height of six feet, his physique is wiry rather than bulky. It is through his wiry nature that the thin figure is able to carry the large pack usually seen upon his back and the longsword buckled to his side over the many miles he travels. Besides these, the only visible item of worth upon his figure is a signet ring bearing the seal of the same symbol of the broach.
History:
Born to a prostitute and an unknown father in the contested lands of Buhr Marling, Magnus was orphaned before the age of four when his mother was slain during a conflict with the men of Rhun. Malnourished and beaten frequently whilst within the confines of the town's poorly run orphanage, the young lad fled into the streets before he was nine. Learning to pick both pockets and locks, Magnus was able to scrape by through his various acts of thievery.
He was caught one day however at the age of twelve by a member of Royal Wardens; a man by the name of Absalon. Rather than turning Magnus in, pity filled the man and instead he took the young lad under his wing. Teaching him how to survive on his own without the need for theft, the wild became his new home as he accompanied Absalon on his patrols of the south lands. Over time the principles of the Wardens were instilled into Magnus along with the personal principles of his mentor. His time with Absalon was to end however when his mentor was called away on a special mission; one which he was not allowed to accompany him upon. Despite giving assurances that he would see the young man again, that was the last time Magnus saw the Royal Warden.
Having no other legal skill set and seeking to honour the man who had taught him how to live with virtue, Magnus sought out the headquarters of the Royal Wardens in the hopes of following in the footsteps of Absalon. Having received much of his training already from his mentor, the young man achieved the position with remarkable speed. Once inducted into the ranks of the Royal Wardens, Magnus spent much of his early years in the service keeping vigil over the Easterling threat within the southern lands around Buhr Marling.
With the fall of Riavod, he was reassigned to Dale's northern borders and has served there since. Avoiding densely populated areas, Magnus' view of Dale and its people have remained uncorrupted despite his early years. A firm believer in acting for the greater good of the people of Dale, the young Royal Warden fervently defends the state and is ceaseless in his pursuit of her enemies.
