Mairin the Dove

Once a player character, Mairin the Dove was the first ard ceile of (Elendor’s) Dunland. Youthful at the death of her mother, she was nevertheless appointed as the “mother of Dunland” and the “bride of the god,” as it was then believed. As such, she was the head of Clan Dove (the “children of the god” as it was then believed by the faithful) and the lady of Kierkgard, peacemaker among the bickering clans of Wulf, Bear, and Stag. She was a gentle and approachable healer, a good singer and story-teller with soft honey-auburn hair and hazel-green eyes. It was rumored among the faithless that she and Corwyn were lovers, a blasphemy among the faithful because the ard ceile was then believed to belong only to the god. She bore one child, a beautiful son, but when she was lost along with the child, it was thought to orcs for no remains were found, she left no girl child to eventually inherit the ard ceile’s mantle. OOCly, Mairin’s player was one of the three original LA creators of Dunland, along with Hakuna (its first +ruler) and Corwyn.
