Description

While shorter in stature than most woman of Gondor, this young woman is undoubtedly a descendant of Numenor. She wears her thick black hair bound back from her heart-shaped face and covered with a dark grey caul. While her nose may be a trifle too thin for her to be considered a beauty, large deep-grey eyes framed by long, dark lashes ensure that she would be overlooked in a crowd. Her full lips would also be considered a good feature, if they were perhaps to be curved into a smile more often.

Her slim, but womanly figure is shown to advantage by a simple dress, dyed the same shade of grey as her caul, marking her as a Healer. A touch of red at her wrist cuffs and neck, shows that she is a apprentice in that profession. A long white apron and utilitarian, if expensive, boots complete the ensemble.

History

The youngest child and only daughter of the union of Aerlinn Mormegil Cuthalion and ___ Tathar Cuthalion, Midhwen grew up both petted and teased by her three elder brothers. This attention was well received by a girl whose father was away in Ithilien more often than not, serving Gondor as a Ranger. Her mother did sometimes despair of her child's unladylike romping with her brothers, but a strong sense of duty toward her House, instilled by her elders, ensured that by the time she was fifteen and her last brother left Minas Tirith to join the Scouts, she was well educated and behaved in the manner which suits a young lady.

It was soon afterwards that a rift formed between mother and daughter. While Midhwen's aim was to become one in the ranks of Gondor's healers and to serve as her father and brothers do, her mother's ambition tended more towards her marrying well and if possible, within the House. What followed was a two year struggle of wills, visible to only those within the family and sometimes not even to them. This seeming stalemate was in evidence until a visit from her father, just before her nineteenth birthday, where the question was settled once and for all, in Midhwen's favour.
