Officials of Gondor

The officials of Gondor are those men and women appointed by the kings, then the stewards, and the major fief-lords to assist in administering the realm and its armies and navies over the millennia. The stewards themselves were officials under the kings until the lordship passed to them with the disappearance of King Earnur.

Minas Tirith

The civil officials and officers of the Hosts of Gondor based in Minas Tirith are many and serve at the pleasure of the lord and steward of Gondor, Denethor II. His elder son Boromir is captain-general of all of Gondor's forces. His younger son Faramir is captain of the Company of Ithilien, the rangers who guard the eastern march. Hurin the Tall is Denethor's chief lieutenant in the administration of Minas Tirith as warden of the Keys.

Dol Amroth

The prince of Dol Amroth is lord of Belfalas and Dor-en-Ernil. His court is composed of the chief officials of the two fiefs, not least of which are the knight-officers of the Order of the Swan, the famed knights of Dol Amroth who provide Gondor with its heavy cavalry on the field of battle.
