History:
Saereda Conwy was born in the small town of Iach Celduin and is the only child of two marginally successful merchants. Her family ran a storefront that sold a wide variety of goods to the townspeople, and they made a respectable as well as profitable living. Unfortunately, Iach Celduin has experienced the brunt of many Orc incursions into the Dale-lands, and each time the town was ravaged, the family found their funds were quickly depleted in efforts to rebuild their store and home.
After one such Orc raid some twelve years ago, facing down the reality of rebuilding both a home and a store, Saereda's father decided that staying in Iach Celduin was ultimately an exercise in futility if he expected to improve his family's fortunes, Thus, the family took the few belongings that were left and moved to the relative security of Esgaroth.
The Conwy's did well for themselves in Esgaroth, but they were never especially wealthy or successful in their mercantile pursuits. Her father's shop was a simple affair that bought from those without the time or connections to effectively sell then resold the same goods for a small profit. As her parents aged, Saereda began to take over the family's business operations learning from example as well as experience. She gained full control over all business affairs after her father passed on a little more than a year ago.
Saereda wasted no time in changing the business to fit her personal aspirations. Thus the Conwy family have climbed their way into moderately comfortable wealth and recognition after only a year under her guidance. Saereda is credited with being a shrewd and clever merchant to have orchestrated such an unprecedented rise in her family's fortunes. This was recently recognized by the Merchant's guild with a promotion to journeyman. Generally, the Conwy's are well respected by those who deal with them, and they are believed to be staunchly loyal to the King's House. It's also known that Saereda is looking for other directions to direct her entrepreneurial talents and has begun inquiring into potential real estate investments.
