Sidhel Brethilasion is a Imladhrim Sindar elf. He is the Herald of Nos Narthanaer and a member of the Seekers Guild in Rivendell. His birth name was Elfaron Brilcrist, but after the wars of Angmar that lead to the downfall of the kingdom of Men, he choose to be Sidhel, the Peace Elf. This change of name is only known to few elves, the family of Elrond and Nos Narthanaer's Lord Talroch among them.

Description

You look at a quite tall Sinda-Elf. He wears a simple dark grey tunic with a high collar and matching trousers. A light grey robe accomplishes his attire. The seams of the tunic and trousers are adorned with vines and the robe itself is embroidered with two different styles. The outer rim shows the waves of the Great Sea which surround a multitude of the same vines that are stitched on his shirt. On a closer look you can see that he also wears a pair of light and delicate auburn suede boots, obviously of Silvan origin - and where his right hand aught to be is but an empty sleeve. He has a serious look in his pale face, with a touch of nobility. The blong black hair contrasts his eyes with their indistinct mix of grey and blue. In these eyes you can see the pride of an ancient and noble house. Though he looks balanced and peaceful, he might get hot tempered and his name is not an omen...

History

Few has become known about Sidhel throughout the mists of time. On 2 Laer II 3319, in the year when Numenor was destroyed as a punishment for another treason of men, he was born in the Forlond of the Grey Havens. He was raised in Mithlond and Forlindon, on the estate of his uncle, and it was in his youth that he fell in love with everything connected to the sea. His parents Aeraewen Celfindel and Brethilas Isilion, are of Nos Narthanaer and their families can well be traced back to the founding of Thingol's kingdom in Beleriand. As he had come of age, young Sidhel had seen the new rise of the Kingdom of Men next to Mithlond and in the South, but Sauron descended upon Gondor - and so the Last Alliance of Eldar and Edain was formed. When Brethilas and his father Thalhador set out with Gil-Galad's host to join the armies of the Alliance in Imladris, Sidhel stayed behind and he entered the service of Cirdan's guards. Sauron was eventually defeated, but neither the High King of the Noldor, nor Thalhador returned from the war.

For about 2000 years Sidhel dwelt then in or around The Grey Havens and during the Wars of Arnor he was among the first to defend the borders and prevent Angmar's armies from crossing the Lhun. After the Downfall of Arnor and Arthedain his parents left Middle Earth for the Undying Lands as they saw no future for them there, leaving Sidhel behind, who not yet felt ready to join them. Saddened by the long wars against the Witch King and by the loss of his family, Sidhel decided to move to Imladris to seek Elrond's wisdom, accompanying one of the first Dunedain traveling parties set out for Imladris. Despite of his favour for a marine surrounding, his hunger for knowledge lets him now stay in Imladris where he steadily acquires knowledge by reading through the hundreds of books in Elrond's libraries.

He quickly joined those of his House who dwell in Imladris and now tries to help them whenever he can, be it with wisdom, or by wielding the sword, and this ties him even stronger to Imladris, supressing his wish to return to the sea.

His experiences in the wars against Angmar still trouble him at times and have made him retained, and the desire to leave Middle Earth grows in his heart. Yet among those how know him he is valued for his counsel and his friendship. It was in the 3034th year of this Age though, that he left Imladris to travel to Amon Thranduil and to the Golden Wood, and he found new friends in both of these realms. And after his return to Imladris it seemed that this voyage had woken his old unrest, for nowadays he will not tarry any more to leave Imladris, to fulfill missions of both military and peaceful natures.
