Description

Years and seasons past are reflected in this ellon. He stands poised and tall, a sense of wisdom and knowledge about him. His hair, the sleekest silver, falls in finely braided strands to his shoulders. His eyes, as deep and azure as the sea, are perhaps his most striking features. Below his finely shaped nose is a mouth that has spoken, smiled, and frowned many times.

He is tall, and while he is no warrior, there is great strength and power about him. His arms and legs are sleek like the mellyrn branches and tinged in the fairest way. Over a shirt of green he wears a gown of many greens that delights the eyes. His pants are brown, and despite his rank he dresses humbly. While in the woods he tends to walk barefoot and it is only rarely that he adorns a pair of sandals, typical of many of his House.

History

The year 1000 of the Third Age was a peaceful year in Lothlorien. Amroth was king, and two young ellyn, Dagoran and Eresil of Laiquendi were gifted with a child upon a time of spring. Both were born at the dawn of the Third Age, after the Last Alliance and the fall of Amdir, and both were singers. Their son was called Thoranglir, a testament to the great Eagles that were beloved by Dagoran and to song, Eresil's great love.

Thoranglir grew strong and learned quick. His father taught him many languages; bits of the language of the men of Numenor and the tongue of the folk of Beor. Ever was it Dagoran's dream to learn the language of the Eagles, but to this day he has not learned a word of it. Thoranglir also became skilled in the sword and bow, and so by the time he had reached adulthood he was ready to sing for the newly come rulers of Lothlorien, Galadriel and Celeborn.

Slowly rising from a student to teacher and taking on the harp and lute, Thoranglir was truly a talented musician. It was ever his love though, to study languages, and much against his father's wishes he studied the language of the Noldor and came to love it. When the last Loremaster retired from her post, Thoranglir was chosen by the Lord and Lady to take on the position, for both thought his knowledge of foreign tongues remarkable. This ellon has never married, but it is ever in his heart to find an elleth, and he may be heard deep in the woods under the silver moon singing songs of love.
