Ulfnor
Title:
Master of the Minstrels Guild
Played by:
Lorthrain
Description:
This is a tall, thin man, whose stature would be impressive were there any meat on his bones. Instead he is lithe indeed, and wavy blond hair frames an intelligent, friendly face. He's dressed in greens, for preference, and seems decently well-off, to judge by his garb, but nothing about his ensemble speaks of a rich man. His fingers are graceful, and smile easy to find, and when moving there is a music to his walk that says much about the character of this Minstrels Guildmaster.
History:
Poor Ulfnor was thrown into his position of Guildmaster unasked, and the youthful Minstrel struggled at first; not doubt thanks to the actions of his predecessor. The previous Master had absconded with the wealth of the Guild, escaping with all their collected revenues and fleeing town, and someone had to be appointed to pick up the pieces. Ulfnor was deemed the best bet, for he was quick with numbers as well as words, and it took a while to figure out just how he would manage to keep his new charges from starving.
House Arathmor lent a hand in this, with Lord Norfred deciding to patronize the Guild, and ordering a number of great works praising the virtues of the Merchant House, but despite this providing the funds to get back on their feet, it did little for the credibility of the Minstrels themselves, and so when war sparked in the south, at Buhr Mahrling, Ulfnor was almost relieved. Battle, tragedy and valour are so much more fertile grounds for songs that people will pay to hear, after all, and indeed, along with the aid of Lady Arla of Taurdain, herself a Minstrel, times have begun to get a little better for the new Guildmaster.
Currently, there has been word of composing a great lay, to be remembered for, but if he's started work on it then he's shown it to no-one. He can be found in the Town Hall more often thatn not, seeing to Guild matters, and locals say he is nearly always a chirpy and merry fellow; prone to falling into alliterative speech just for the play of it, although there have been rumours of a couple of public disagreements with the Minstrel known as Delling.
