Desc:
The elleth you see before you is tall and thin in stature, with fair-skin and deep grey eyes that seem to shine with a kindled light. Her features are well-defined though the binds of age appear to hold no sway over this proud Sinda. A curtain of raven hair falls softly beyond her high shoulders, and upon her head rests a circlet of golden mallorn leaves, wrought in joy of the great and sacred trees of Lothlorien. Hovering in slendor atop her fair brow is an elfstone of luminous violet; its many facets seem to twinkle and flash in the yellow light of Anor.
Veredhiel is clothed in subtle black leggings, above which she wears an undershirt of biege followed by a long sleeved grey tunic. A brown belt decorated with fine elvish script is clasped around her middle, but it has been worn to the point where the words can no longer be distinguished. This sentinel's feet are covered by sturdy earthen boots, the soles of which are light and allow for sure and silent movement. There is a grey cloak and cowl slung about her neck, the gossamer material flowing loosely over her shoulders and back. Over this shadow-like uniform she has slung a finely crafted elven longbow and an accompanying arrow-filled quiver.
Background:
Veredhiel is a 1563 year old Sinda elf, born in the Golden Land of Lorien to her parents, Minaithelan and Aesuithiel. She hails from the proud house of Aderthad. Her father was a weathered Knight of the Galadhrim Guard, and the maiden's mother, Aesuithiel, was an elven crafter, her tender hands worn with many years of producing leather into armor. Veredhiel, ever eager to please her father, would listen attentively to his tales of experience in the Order, and it was not long ere she felt the calling in her own breast to join the group whose duty it is to protect the borders of the Timeless Wood.
A great length of years passed; naught but brief flashes in the lifespan of the elves. In the gloom of a starless night, Minaithelan and a company of Lorien's guards where assailed by a small Orc-horde from the Hithaeglir. Through strength of arms and swift arrow shafts, the Galadhrim drove the foe back, but not without loss; a handful of Quendi were injured, and Aesuithiel could do nary save wait and watch as her husband was treated in the healing talan for a grave wound of his own. Long was it ere he showed signs of recovery, and longer still until Aesuithiel was free of her grief. His body marred, but not his stout spirit, the elder Knight returned to his post, though his sword-bearing arm would remain stiffer and less mobile than before.
It was around this time that Veredhiel became a member of the Lorien Guard, sharing her father's desire to keep vigil over the land that he loved.
