Healer\'s Tent

The atmosphere within the light walled tent is surprisingly cozy. Neatly made cots smothered in blankets and bedding line one wall with enough space in between to offer easy access to their occupants. A small, sturdy looking table with a few camp chairs surrounding it is against the other, with a large chest to one side. Strewn across the table, in an oddly neat display of disarray are bandages of many sizes, and several healing concoctions in various states of preparation. A small fire crackles soothingly in the cleared center of the floor, a pot of water aboil constantly over it. To the rear of the structure, a hanging of blankets sections off a small room behind with some privacy, and overall, the tang of herbs is in the air.

[Illidirr(#29778)] A small breeze fills the tent as Illidirr enters , his torn and blood stained cloak recognized by most now in the camp . He seems to be in a much better condition after the fight and there seems slight bouce in his step . He seems to be in his regular mirthfull mood always on the lookout for merry conversation . He walks over to Lodogran to see how\'s doing and says in a soft caring voice \" How are you my young friend ? Better i hope \" .

Lodogran smiles. He is feeling much better although he is not sure if he really is better. His shoulder is loosely resting in his chest and he\'s not allowed to move it, not that he would want to move it that is. He does not feel much pain in his stomach except for a bit of an itch. Still he can\'t move since any sort of movement with his stomach really makes it burn so sitting up straight is out of the question for him! When he sees Illidirr his friend he smiles widely, \"I\'m fine\" he says.

[Gwendolyn(#13281)] Through the flaps in the tent comes Gwendolyn. Seeing Lodogran she goes straight towards him and falls to her knees\' beside his bed \"Oh Lodo! What happened?\"

Nikala has connected.

Illidirr smiles in reply ans says with happiness in his voice \" Good good ! I hope to see you up and scurriying about again soon then maybe you and me can get to more merrier things perhaps , but dont strain yourself to talk now I can see that you still experience some pain \"

Lodogran smiles at Illidirr and then turns his attention (and his head) to Gwendolyn. \"Nothing, I\'m fine\" he hushes sweetly.

A tall man with greying-blonde hair, Rorgan, sits upon the edge of his cot. Not that he\'s been up walking about, but indeed the man seems to have made some progress of late like many of the others within the confines of the healing tent. There is a slight smile on his face that is covering some deeper emotion or feeling, and a look into the man\'s deep blue eyes would reveal the strain of the effort he has put into getting just this far from his usual supine position.

A book lays near by, upon a chair, cover exposed for whomever cares to look -- The Land of Gift -- something a bit odd for the tailor to be reading, according to some, but indeed in his long convalescence, he as been seen reading many texts of history, primarily in recent-looking translations, but there have been some older looking books as well.

[Indilzar(#10108)] You hear a single shrill horn ring outside the tent.

Gwendolyn places her hand over Lodogran\'s \"Oh how I missed you\" she kisses your forehead \"Are you in much pain? Is there anything I can do?\"

[Indilzar(#10108)] From outside the tent you hear a soldier cry, \"Let the Men be gathered! Training excercises will commence shortly.\"

[Indilzar(#10108)] The horn rings again.

[Illidirr(#29778)] Just as he was about to leave the healers tent does Illidirr see a familiar face in the gloom of the healer\'s tent , Rorgan\'s . He hurriedly walks up to the man and with a smile adresses him \" How are you Rorgan , it\'s been awhile since we met !\"

Lodogran smiles softly, as he grabs Gwendolyn\'s hand and gently caresses it. \"I\'m okay\" he repeats sweetly.

[Indilzar(#10108)] The horn cries once more as the voice repeats clearly, \"Let all the soldiery be gathered for training exercises.\"

The tailor\'s ears perk up a little at the sounding of the horn, but only that -- a brief distraction from the pain and effort he has put into making himself sit a bit more normally after nearly two months of inactivity. Rorgan shakes his head to a young healing apprentice who offers his help to the tailor and grins to himself as the soldier heralds the day\'s training exercises. \"It has been far too long since I held a blade in my hand. Would that I was able to go bang about a bit with the lads.\"

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Sitting beside the bed of the one of the Silver Guardsman, Cargaraf hears the horn blow calling all soliders for training exercises. Groaning as he stiffly rises from the chair, his own injury causing a bit of pain as he moves to exit the healer\'s tents.

Illidirr hears the menacing sound of the horn ring through all the cmap and he hurriedly turns around and as he leaves the tent he looks back to Rorgan one last time .

A Camp of Men(#15235Qae)

Many tents are gathered here, many makes and shapes and sizes, but long before one draws near to the tents, one must pass a ring of well-spaced and well-armed sentries. A picket if you will, surrounding the grazing horses and conglomeration of tents.

Near enough and the great variety of standards can be recognized -- standards for just about every clan and drihten of Rohan and a good representation of Gondorian flags as well.

Untold numbers of men could inhabit such a camp, and come running at the first sign of trouble from one of the pickets.

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Moving into the line of soldiers, Cargaraf can be heard muttering to himself. His sword knocks against his leg as the stiffness is obvious with his movements. Glancing around, he says outloud, \"Who called this training session? I do not see the Commander of the camp.\"

The lithe form of the Silver Guard sergeant, Abarazar, also joins the ranks of men forming up at the training ground. For all his military training and discipline, his appearance has undergone a sharp decline since the dissappearance of the Commander of the Silver Guard, Azragath Khozadan. He releases a soft sigh and begins to move toward another of the men in his unit, offering Cargaraf a curt nod as he crosses his arms and stands in wait of whatever shall transpire in the way of training this day. Muttering quietly enough so only a few hear, he says, \"I hope it\'s not another one of those formation drills. I could have gotten some sleep.

[Indilzar(#10108)] One of the captains comes out of the tent and cries, \"Men! Line up!\"

[Indilzar(#10108)] The captain yells again, \"LINE UP!\"

The tall sergeant Abarazar growls, \"All right, ladies! You heard the man. Stop yer yappin\' and get in line!\" He grabs a smiling Guardsmen and turns him so he\'s facing the proper direction, muttering, \"Get in line, ya sack of beets!\"

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Still muttering under his breath, Cargaraf snaps too and lines up in formation. His grey eyes straight ahead , shoulders back and hands to his sides. If one were to look a bit closer, they would see the cuff of his right leg twitching a bit as he struggles to maintain the stance.

[Illidirr(#29778)] Illidirr arrives at the centre of the camp With most of the men fit to walk about gathered already . He does not however join the group but stands by himself a few yards away his cloak fluttering in the wind like a old battered flag . He hears the orders though and slowly get\'s in line with the other men .

\"LINE UP, YOU RAGAMUFFINS! We\'re not out here for our health!\" Abarazar barks at some of the more recalcitrate men.

[Indilzar(#10108)] The captain now satisfied says to the Men, \"Very good. Now listen. Today your training is going to be done by a man who needs no introduction. He has been asked by the Captain to do so and therefore he has at his pleasure laid this hour to show you his own style of fighting. Lord Bragollach!\"

[Indilzar(#10108)] Even as the captain says \'Lord Bragollach\' there comes the black clad Lord riding up on his sable horse. He smirks at the gathered with his hooked nose and tugs at his gloves for a moment.

[Cargaraf(#7229)] His cold grey eyes widen in surprise as the captain announces that Lord Bragollach will be in charge of training session. Cargaraf cuts his eyes quickly as the man rides up on his horse and then away as he notes the smirk on his face. The fingers laying at the side of his black trousers tighten as he awaits furthur instruction.

[Indilzar(#10108)] The captain steps back after bowing to the Lord.

Illidirr eyes the lord from his position at the far right of the line , he is the last of all the men in the line and probably the worst looking with his red stained and torn cloak .

The arrival of the lord only adds to the swagger in the sergeant\'s demeanour, and something resembling the beginnings of a smile begins to form on his face. \"This ought to be good,\" he remarks quietly.

[Indilzar(#10108)] Indilzar Bragollach considers for a moment his course and then leaps off his horse bounding full on the ground. Upon his face is that almost sinister smile. He begins to stalk up the row.

Indilzar lays his hand on the hilt of his sword as he marks down the row, marking those with a slight nod. At last he comes to Illidirr and looks at him for a long moment.

Indilzar says, \"Where is thine tabbard, Man?\"

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Tensing as the Bragollach lord stalks down the row of soliders, Cargaraf slowly opens his fingers and presses the palm of his hand against his pants. A frown mars his brow for a moment as the man pauses in front and barks out his first words. The edge of his lip curls up in disgust.

Indilzar looks sharply at Illidirr, \"Pray thee soldier of Gondor. Dost thou consider thyself to be swift?\"

[Thine(#28846)] The young warrior Thine walks from the camp, and looks at the group, most of them holding swords. He gives a small grin as he looks at his spear. He sits down, hoping to get a few tips.

Illidirr eyes the man even more sternly and answers \" My lord this is all I own excet my ceremonial cloak only used for special occasions .\"

The sergeant nudges Cargaraf beside him, \"Take it easy, man. So what if he\'s a lord. Just another officer to me.\" The words he speaks are soft and sharp, and his eyes drift over to the young Rohirric lad, but only briefly as once again he faces front and listens to whatever should develop out of the Lord Indilzar Bragollach\'s pending chastisement of the soldier he addresses.

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Hissing out softly Cargaraf says, \"It matters not to me that he is a lord, Sergeant.\", the emphasis on the rank of the man beside him. Stiffening as he listens to the exchange between the Lord Bragollach and the young solider, Cargaraf spits out to Abarazar, \"Would you not prefer your sword in your hand than this display of authority?\"

Indilzar smiles at this response and then in a flash the Bragollach\'s sword is drawn and finds itself at the neck of Illidirr.

Indilzar smiles, \"Not too swift I see.\"

Indilzar draws back his sword and says to Illidirr, \"Step out and in front of the men.\"

Hissing back his sharp response, Abarazar glances to Cargaraf only long enough to miss the drawing of the swrod, \"Shhh! Pipe down, will ya!\"

Indilzar marches toward the center of the line and says, \"It is not strength that shall help you to avail you against the enemy. Strength is something left to the foolish. To the blunder-hearted and the craven.\" Indilzar makes his palm into a fist, \"Strength is nothing!\"

Illidirr smiles and then desperately tryin to hold his laugh he says \" Do you expect me to suspicious of you attacking me is there any reason I should be my lord ? \" He steps a few yards in front of the line of men and draws his longsword .

[Indilzar(#10108)] Takes a glance down the line to where Abarazar and Cargaraf are. His grey eyes sparkle for a moment, \"Watch.\"

Indilzar turning toward Illidirr he says, \"Attack me.\"

[Thine(#28846)] After looking at the plains for the past minutes, he turns his head to the group again and see\'s Lord Bragollach there. A frown comes on to his face, and his eye\'s burn with anger.

Barely supressing a chuckle, the Sergeant Abarazar nudges the Private Cargaraf with his elbow, \"Watch this lad -- he\'s good.\"

Illidirr looks at the Lord sternly , tall and kinglike Illidirr seems in the sun even though his clothes are tattered and stained . He slowly assumes an attacking stance and quickly without a sound does his blade travek towards the Lord\'s chest .

[Cargaraf(#7229)] A snort or perhaps a sound of agreement slips from the unsmiling lips of Cargaraf as he turns to watch Lord Indilzar display his swordsmanship. An odd expression fills his eyes as he watches every movement of the man\'s blade. Grunting in surprise as he orders the man at arms to attack him.

Indilzar side steps the blow and sticking out his foot trips Illidirr to the ground. He then brushes off his tunic and says, \"Speed is essential. You will die if you do not learn otherwise.\"

Illidirr falls to the ground with a loud thud but like a slippery fish he rolls away and gets up this time nodding to the Lord .

\"That scout\'s gonna get his lumps, mind you well, private,\" the sergeant nods toward Illidirr as he speaks, \"But the lesson will come, much as it does with Lord Rorgan.\" He flashes a brief grin, \"You\'ve tasted his blade a time or two, from what I\'ve heard, private.\" Now he nods to Indilzar, \"But do you think the tailor\'s as fast as that one?\"

Indilzar snorts for a moment and then comes over to where Cargaraf stands with Abarazar. For a moment he pushes back his cloak and takes a sharp look at Cargaraf, \"What is your name?\"

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Chuckling at the sergeants words, Cargaraf says, \"Aye, I have tasted his blade..\", his words interupted as Indilzar comes to stand before him. Calmly his voice rings out, \"My name is Cargaraf, Lord Bragollach.\", cool grey eyes hold the man\'s eyes as he replies.

Illidirr nods to the sergeant and a faint smile spreads over his face as he sees all the men in the camp smiling and whispering to each other . He gets back into line even though he still wants another crack at Lord Braggolach .

[Indilzar(#10108)] \"It is discourteous to speak while in the row Cargaraf,\" says Bragollach. \"For your sin, you will go to the front of the line.\" He then looks to Illidirr, \"Stay out there Illidirr!\"

Illidirr nods but doesn\'t rely to the order of lord Braggolach , he walks up slowly almost with a spring in his step to the clearing infront of all the men .

[Thine(#28846)] Thine sniffed as he still watched the Gondorian Lord in the cold night. He grips his spear tightly, thoughts rushing in his mind.

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Stepping out of the line, Cargaraf\'s eyes flash at the Lord Bragollach for a split second before he moves to the front of the line. Snapping his shoulders back he shouts out, \"Yes sir, as you wish, Sir!\", as his heels click together.

[Thine(#28846)] Thine stood up, and took a deep breath. He walked to the lines... He didn\'t want to be anywhere near the Lord but he really wanted A train...

[Indilzar(#10108)] \"I am a Lord, not a Sir you peasant!\" Indilzar cries after him. Then the Black Knight says to the twain, \"Draw swords, show me what you have.\"

Illidirr looks at Cargaraf and assumes a defensive stance , feet planted far apart and his sword raised he awaits any onslaught from his opponent .

[Cargaraf(#7229)] An look of devilment is in Cargaraf\'s eyes as Lord Indilzar chastises him. Drawing his sword with a flourish, he tips his head to Illidirr. His blade turns and flashes in the sun as his stance is poised and ready, a smile on his face as he says, \"Your move\"

Illidirr smiles and nods to Cargaraf , he steps forward one step trying to get Cargaraf to concentrate on his feet and in a flash of light he slashes downward\'s with his blade at Cargaraf\'s shoulder .

Turning in line and watching his fellow Silver Guardsman, Abarazar still smiles faintly as he watches the pair square off. He spares the Bragollach half a glance and then his eyes return to the two men fighting.

[Thine(#28846)] Thine switches his eye\'s between Lord Bragollach and the fight between Illidirr and Cargaraf.

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Stepping easily away from Illidirr\'s blade as it swings towards his shoulder, Cargaraf smiles a bit as his sword whistles through the air in an arc from the left. The blade making such a sweet sound as it whines towards its target of the man\'s stomach. Pausing the movement of his sword as it reaches within a milimeter of the man\'s flesh, he steps back and inquires, \"Again?\"

[Indilzar(#10108)] Sighing, Lord Bragollach says, \"Do this stance.\" Bragollach then turns sideways and bending slightly at the knees puts his right foot before his left in a \'T\' stance. In his hand he holds out his hand in an en guard position but leaves the other downward. \"Stay on the balls of the foot.\"

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Turning sideways as Lord Indilzar indicated, his knees slightly bend, Cargaraf puts his right foot before his left in a \"T\" stance. Rocking up and down on the balls of his feet to get a feel for the position, Cargaraf brings up his sword as indicated and hold his left hand down. Surprise clearly written across the man\'s face as he bounces lightly on his feet, again getting a feel for the stance.

Illidirr grins at the man and says in a polite tone \" Hah ! You seem to be a man fulled with your own magnifisance \", his eyes slide towards the lord standing on side on the clearing and his smile broadens . \" No you shall attempt to attack me , do your worst !\" he ends

Watching the lord\'s instructions carefully, that small smile again returns to Abarazar\'s face. His man is doing well enough thus far to cause him no dissatisfaction as of yet.

[Thine(#28846)] Thine grinned at Illidirr\'s words, but kept his mouth shut none the less. He turned his head to Bragollach to see his reaction.

[Indilzar(#10108)] \"Now,\" says the Lord Bragollach with a twist of his lip. \"You two must learn to remain on your feet. An attack made swiftly need not worry about a parry. Yet even so you must learn both. In two hits are most duels fought on the field.\" He then motions for the two to square off against each other.

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Resuming the stance as earlier indicated by Lord Indilzar, Cargaraf again draws his blade. One step, then two and the ring of steel against steel as he steps back. Again a hop forward, bouncing on the balls of his feet as his blade slashes in to meet with Illidirr\'s

[Indilzar(#10108)] \"No,no, no. Illidirr! Parry three! On a second tempo. Parry strike. Then Cargaraf, counter with a beat attack,\" thus speaks the Lord Indilzar.

Abarazar still watches quietly, a small smile upon his lips, as Lord Indilzar goes about training the two men.

[Illidirr(#29778)] A loud ring of the meeting between of two blades echo through the camp as Illidirr elegantly blocks Cargaraf\'s blow . He then dukcs down and slashes from the right towards Cargaraf\'s legs . He only hears faintly hears Lord Braggolach .

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Pausing a moment and turning to Indilzar, Cargaraf asks, \"What do you mean by counter with a beat attack? I am afraid I do not follow that my Lord. Unless you mean, do not step back after the first blade attack.\" Puzzled by the man\'s words, he replays the last, one step, then two, blades ring..\"So you would bring the blade in at this point, so close to your opponent, not giving them the chance to press you backwards?\"

[Indilzar(#10108)] Stepping forward Indilzar thrusts out his own sword savagely breaking up the crossed swords of the combatants.

Indilzar turns to Cargaraf, \"A beat attack is when you strike your opponent\'s blade and then strike at them. Square off against me.\"

Illidirr stands up looking at the Lord and steps back giving the Lod and Cargaraf some room .

Indilzar takes a step back and stands at the ready, his right foot forward, knees bent in the Southern Style of Gondor. He holds back his empty hand and his thin blade is held up steadily. He is standing slightly sideways, so to limit the target area.

[Illidirr(#29778)] While the two men square off Ilidirrs looks to the men inline and nods to Thine recognizing his face from some earlier meeting .

[Thine(#28846)] Thine spots Illidirr looking at him, and gives a nod and a smile.

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Drawing a long, cleansing breath, Cargaraf looks calmly at Indilzar as he assumes the \"T\" stance. Drawing his sword with his right hand, his left one is held in the en garde position. Eyes narrowing as he watches Indilzar stand at ready, he steps in one step and brings the blade in with a short arc to meet that of Indilzar. Not stepping back this time, he moves the blade quickly through the air, grunting as the heavy sword strains the muscles in his shoulders as he aims at Indilzar\'s midsection.

Watching the Lord square off with the private, Abarazar simply stands there with that odd half-smile upon his lips.

Indilzar steps into the swing but rather than aiming at his oppenent he aims for the blade. He hits Cargaraf\'s blade and it seems to bounce off of him into the thick training armour. While not a parry, it seems to be a seperate kind of attack, \"This, is a beat attack! You are exposing yourself too much. Economize your swings.\"

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Cargaraf\'s eyes widen in surprise as Indilzar steps into the swing, grunting loudly as their blades ring loudly in the quiet of the plains. Questioning the man as he brings up his blace again, \"So, you are saying I should now swing so widely when standing this close to an opponent?\" A blow is feinged and then a forward thrust of the blade at Indilzar. \"This appears to leave my midsection open to attack. What am I doing incorrectly?\"

[Indilzar(#10108)] Takes a step back creating distance between them. His feet remain light, and his knees bent as he takes two retreats saying, \"You are swinging too wide and wild. You first need to pretend your feet do not have cement blocks attached to them. Second, you should learn to parry and riposte correctly. When you swing as you do I can just thrust in with a blow that would kill you.\"

Pablo\'s friends were killed by orcs, his Mom was Penithoith and his Dad was Squioth. His parents were in the army and were killed by orc arrows. Pablo wants to be a healer and prevent this from happening to other people.

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Nodding his head at the man\'s words, Cargaraf again bounces to the balls of his feet, eyes closing for a moment as he concentrates on the sensation of lightness. Bending his knees and moving a couple of steps forward and then a few back and then forward again.Grinning at Indilzar as he seemingly dances in and out of position, \"This could almost be like dancing, one, two, three thrust, one two three, parry....\" Bringing his blade up to the blade of Indilzar again, the ring of steel so loud as it meets time after time. Concentration clearly written on this solider\'s face as he practices, the sweat dripping from his raven hair.

Pablo\'s friends were killed by orcs, his Mom was Penithoith and his Dad was Squioth. His parents were in the army and were killed by orc arrows. Pablo wants to be a healer and prevent this from happening to other people.

Indilzar frowns and steps forward in a balestra attack with a beat he knocks down the sword of Cargaraf and sends his foot flying into his midsection, \"This is no waltz but a serious affair!\"

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Landing on the ground with a loud grunt, Cargaraf looks up at Indilzar with solemn eyes, \"The seriousness of this is well taken Lord Indilzar\". Rising from the ground with grace, he bothers not to wipe the dirt from his clothing. Bending to pick up his sword he turns to the Lord Bragollach, knees bent, right foot forward. No word spoken as his blade rings in against his trainers\', moving in and out with speed and grace, he parries and thrusts. Time and again the ring of steel clashing fills the air.

Indilzar says slowly, \"That was... better.\"

Indilzar sheathes his sword and calls to the Captain, \"Continue with the exercises. Take them on a march up into those hills!\"

[Combat(#13388)] Illidirr lets his hands go to his side and with a high pitched song of steel Tifferet leaves it\'s sheath by his side and comes to greet any confrontation .

[Cargaraf(#7229)] Stepping back as the Lord Bragollach yells a halt, Cargaraf pauses and wipes the sweat dripping from his face on the sleeve of his shirt. Nodding his head briefly to Indilzar he says, \"Thank you for the tips, my Lord\" a new light of respect, perhaps written in those cold grey eyes.

[Indilzar(#10108)] \"Tips?\" scowls Indilzar. He places his gloved hand over his face and stalks away, hawklike.

The sergeant of the Silver Guard, Abarazar breaks off from the Gondorian soldiers as they are led off on a march into the hills and approaches the young rider that has so aptly watched the Lord Indilzar giving his training to the men. He quickly sizes the young man up with a shrewd glance and asks, \"What\'s the matter, lad, didn\'t ye want to familiarize yourself with the Southern fighting style of Gondor?\"

[Thine(#28846)] The young Rohan rider raised his chest and kept a straight face. \"I\'m a Rohan sir and proud to be one.\" He said, looking straight.

Nodding Abarazar treats Thine\'s words as an answer to his own question, \"From the look of ye, I\'d have thought as much, lad. Sergeant Abarazar Khibilroth of the Minas Tirith Silver Guard, Tailor\'s Guild.\" He introduces himself with a hand extended toward the young rider.

[Thine(#28846)] Thine shoke Abarazar\'s hand. \"And I\'m Warrior Rider Thine of the East-mark.\" He said, translating the Rohan language of the title.

\"Well met, Warrior Rider Thine.\" Abarazar still does not fully smile, but the corners of his mouth do twist slightly upward, an expression that never does touch his eyes, \"So again I ask, are you not interested in the Southern fighting style of Gondor, lad? Surely you have seen nothing like it before.\"

[Thine(#28846)] Thine swallowed quietly. \"I\'ve faught beside Gondor\'s a couple of times, and I find there combat style interesting. I\'m sure it will prove helpful for me, sir.\" A thought came in to his mind. \"May I be excused, sir? I have buisness in the camp site.\"

Abarazar nods politely to the man, \"Of course you may, lad. I\'m not your commander.\" Now he does smile, as he, too, realizes there is much he also should be about doing within the camp.

[Thine(#28846)] Thine gives a nod of thanks, before stepping out of the line and walking to the main camp.
