Description

A tall young lord of Elendil's kith, a bright ember risen anew from Numenor's stormy wrack, reckless, fair and proud. He is charming and comely as any storybook knight-errant. But the calculated grace in his lean frame hints at a fell and bloody purpose -- a dangerous warlike resolve thinly veiled in honour and courtesy.

Dark as the witching-hour, benighted hair is worn carelessly tousled, fettered by a silver circlet in ancient custom. His uncanny blue-grey eyes shine with a strange orphic light; they see utterly, and pierce the hearts of lesser Men like the breaking of some hopeless hoped-for dawn.

A habergeon of bright mail is veiled beneath livery of blinding sacrosanct white, pure as snow and broidered with silver like moonlight. Falling from his shoulders is a great scarlet mantle, its sanguine folds swirling with stars and leaves picked out in golden thread. At his side is a beautiful blade of ancient lineage.

History

Second and sole surviving son of Lord Belernil Girithlin of Edhellond, brother to Lord Echorion III Girithlin. Fostered at House Girithlin's seat of Lond Duilin and Dol Amroth after Lord Belernil perished in Umbar. Squired to his cousin, Lord Thorondur Girithlin. Knighted in his 18th year after great feats of arms during the Siege of Pelargir. Confirmed as Lord of Edhellond after his elder brother, Knight-Admiral Gaerthor Girithlin, perished at sea. Gained great renown in various tournaments and errantry with his kin and boon companions, Thorondur Girithlin, Elenion Girithlin, Arnafel Isilrim and Belegorm Isilrim. Appointed to Prince Imrahil Imrazor's High Guard as counselor to the Prince and special emmissary to Denethor, Steward of Gondor. Captured in Umbar and tormented by the Lady of Pain while imprisoned. Subsequently escaped and returned to Dol Amroth. Earned the sobriquet "The Leopard of Girithlin" for his flamboyance and reckless courage. Quested in distant lands and for mysterious purposes; travels included sojourns to Rohan, Dunland, Angrenost, Imladris, and parts unknown. Rumored to have dwelt for a time in the Golden Wood, and to bear the friendship of that strange enchanted land. Upon his return, named Knight-Marshall of Dol Amroth and Captain of Gondor. Led war hosts of Dol Amroth in campaigns against Umbar and on the frontiers, achieving great glory though still young by the standards of the Dunedain. Faced the black wraith of the Enemy in the wilds of Ithilien and survived, though he will not speak of that day willingly. Resigned the Knight-Marshallcy, wed his childhood sweetheart the Lady Mariphel Bragollach, and returned to the secluded manor of Eryn Laegol near his lordship of Edhellond. Soon born of a son, Alcarion Gaerthor Girithlin, he comes seldom to the Cities of the Swan or the White Tree.
