New Players

Elendor is a MUSH based on roleplay, therefore the purpose of joining our culture is to do just that: roleplay. However, there are some steps you must take before you are ready to wander the glorious halls of Erebor; these will help you to carefully forge the character you wish to create and choose the role you want to play in Dwarven society.

Our guide to Character Creation can be found here.

There are also more general guides to some handy MUSH commands and some frequently used MUSH help files.

Erebor Locations

The Erebor culture consists of two geographic locations, the Lonely Mountain (Sigin Taragathol) and the Iron Hills (Barazahar). The seat of the Dwarven world has shifted, and power is now centred Under the Mountain with the King. New players should begin with a character resident in the Lonely Mountain itself; more experienced players who wish to join the Iron Hills should contact a Local Admin for more information.

The Lonely Mountain (Sigin Taragathol)

This is the heart of the culture. It is the home of the King Dain and where most dwarven residents of his kingdom dwell today.

The following Erebor-specific information is available:

  • Clans: Descriptions of Erebor Clans.
  • Community: What the Erebor community is like and how people behave.
  • Laws: Laws you must abide whilst Under the Mountain.
  • Maps: Detailed maps of the rooms and halls of Sigin-Taragathol.

The Iron Hills (Barahazar, also known as Emyn Engrin)

North and East of the Lonely Mountain, past the desolation of Smaug, lashed by the cold winds coming from the northern wastes, there lies the small range of mountains known as the Iron Hills or Emyn Engrin in the elvish tongue. Within these mountains is the dwarf-hold of Barazahar, it's inhabitants stolid, stout and proud.

The following Emyn-Engrin-specific information is available:

  • Clans: Descriptions of Emyn-Engrin Clans.
  • Society: How the social systems and attitude run 'neath the Hills.
  • Maps: Maps of the halls of Barazahar.
  • Laws: Laws that all dwarves must abide whilst in Emyn-Engrin.
  • Positions: Unique positions available only to Emyn-Engrin characters.
